Berti this is so relatable! Its so hard not to try to focus on those little things on your game when you have the deadline so close.
I played your game before seeing this post and it's honestly so fun and original! I loved the execution of it because it's simple, yet so engaging!

For me, I got super stressed 6 hours before the submition, I wanted to use those 6 hours to add one more character but I exported the game to show it to my girlfriend, and that's when I noticed that the exported version of my game didn't work! I spent about 3 hours figuring out why it wouldn't work and I wanted to give up lol!
Luckily, I found how to do it and was able to submit it, even though it ended up being shorter.
You can check it out if you want!

It's always on export! We all must have a screw loose to be exporting our games right at the finish line instead of testing!

I'm glad you managed to get the problem figured out, it can feel so crushing when the game just doesn't feel ready right at the finish line.

The sprites in this are S tier for me in this jam so far!

Hope I give you some gambling dopamine! Thanks /jam/brackeys-14/rate/3852058

I spent sooo long to get the game working in the browser, because the last time I entered the jam, I couldn't get it to work, so I tried a new approach to this jam where I had to learn a lot of new stuff, so that was great. But the test version on my desktop app was always different than the browser, so I basically had to debug both places, and hope that it worked on both :'(

Hope you wanna give it a shot! :)

Really enjoyed this one! I love the animations of the cat and the grabbing mechanic is actually pretty cool!

Making this in LibGDX is also impressive! I have some experience with using it as a game framework, and while we were able to get some fairly impressive things running, it was not exactly straightforward!

We spent a lot of time building systems for our game, but putting them together was harder than we expected. By the time we got all the systems working, we only had a few hours left of the jam, and all of our levels were designed and implemented in the last 3 or 4 hours. Luckily, the systems we had implemented made iterating on levels pretty fast and painless, so we were able to finish in time.

Also, I forgot to switch the project over to Web until around the same time. Luckily, switching over didn't cause any problems, but the first build I did after switching over took around 15 minutes, and we were afraid we weren't going to be able to finish a build in time to upload. Luckily, things worked out though, and the final product was something we were pretty happy with!

Switching export targets that late would have me freaking out! Glad it all worked out fine!

Very good game, love all the different backgrounds!

i made cutscenes for the activities in my game and they were so cute - but only worked in unity editor viewer and not in actual web so they had to get cut. there was also several hours where i accidentally broke my character creator and was panicking trying to finish. but i had a good time for my first ever game and first ever jam! if y'all wanna play a short girly game, check it out! https://samaraopal.itch.io/keep-it-down-turn-it-up

That's so sad about the cutscenes! Maybe sometime after the jam it can be updated to have them!

Very cool unique game and I think the character creator is done very well!

I tried spawning as many cultists as possible and, after passing ~4,000, my PC completely froze. For a moment I wasn’t sure when my last save/backup was—pretty scary! Luckily I didn’t have to roll back far and managed to recover. I’m still seeing small FPS drops at high counts, but it doesn’t fully crash anymore :D

Hi, you can also check our game Bis-cult !

You can feed the biscuit as much as you can and reach the milestones to finish the game until you`re become a one !  https://happysealgames.itch.io/biscult

Really had fun with this one, I was impressed with how fleshed out it is! I would love if this one kept getting worked on, I'm a sucker for a good idle game! I probably spent the most time out of any games on this one!

4000 cultists is a pretty good number considering they're all individually clickable!

I underestimated how long would it take the fnd assets, create ui, animations particle effect etc. so my game ended up in a visual mess. But gameplay is fun tho https://bozben94.itch.io/riskbound

Enjoy my game! This worse thing that happened is unity crashing 5 times in a row, also when unity refused for webgl aspect ratio to stay in fullscreen!

For us, it's still the scope and time limits the biggest problem. We did design a lot, but we crunched through the deadline without a lot of stuff. Anyway, still a very pleasent gj experience. Hope you like this small piece. https://zeka-g.itch.io/sweeter-than-biscuit

A few days in I noticed the rules said no AI generated content, so I had to redo all the art and somehow ended up doing it myself in an online pixel art editor, which called for an entire overhaul in the game theme and look. Now, I am no graphic designer, not even close, So my design came out like an Andy Warhall nightmare (that's what I thought when it was coming together), but somehow it works. I think. You tell me..

We were cruising right along until a few hours before the due date, when we  started getting unplayable levels of performance issues. It turns out I accidentally changed the pathfinding to recalculate each physics tick for every spawned enemy. Not a difficult thing to fix, but it sent us all into a panic right before the deadline. I wish I had a bit more time to optimize, there's still some occasional stuttering and performance issues, but overall I'm really happy with what we ended up with!

Ours was mostly successful - apart from that one time where we collided in Git with both people editing the same file that was not able to be merged, lost a bit of work due to rushing.   Next time we'll split the project up even more to make that less likely.
That and the braindead decision to try and make the UI work with just three keys (left, right, jump) when everyone has a perfectly good mouse they could use to click on things.  It made sense at the time, but not afterwards!  Was treating it like an arcade game with a stick and button rather than a web game

The worst thing that happened during development was the enemy health bugs

Here's our game, feel free to leave any feedback! > v<

[ A 2DTopdown Roguelite shooter with PERKS & RISKS ]

The worst thing? Hmm, can I say worst feelings while making this game?

Well, we're a group of 9 people, and I'm a project lead, with a team of 9 programmers who have never made a game or touched something like this before. Then, when the theme was released, I had a master plan! Let everybody in the team come up with their ideas and we'll vote best one to be the core! But no one knows where to start, so I have to cut out bits by bits of their ideas that weren't suited for the game jam, until some feelings start to act up, they seem to not like it, that night is the most uncomfortable ever! I've never been a project lead before, but anyway, after a bit of talking and understanding, it ended up with my ideas as the main and became this game! (we ended up happy ever after ^^)

Since there were only 2 of us doing the game, we only managed to get the game up and playtested it on the last day! And the worst scenario did happen, there were bugs. Thankfully we did manage to finish it on time. Feel free to check it out!!! /jam/brackeys-14/rate/3849140

Not the worst moment but what it bugged me was that I decided to do the background with bigger pixel which didn't match with the characters which I had finished couple of days before. I had 2 days left so I decided to leave it like that and it bothered me quite a bit as I'm kinda a perfectionist lol

This is my game /jam/brackeys-14/rate/3850944 I hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much :)
