Very cool idea and great visuals for the spells! Some small additions could make this into a great game (smarter enemy AI, visuals for the different upgrades, sound effects, overview of what the spells do etc).

Great game overall!

The concept felt fresh and the game was fun, but needed a few rounds in order to know what the spells' effects, and maybe sfx and music would've helped greatly in the atmosphere. Nice!

The game was very fun to play but felt a little unfair when you run out of spells being at full health. It felt so cool having a magic battle with your rival.

Also, the game doesn't have audio?

Hi! The idea was to be thoughtful on how to use the arsenal of spells, but maybe a little indicator of remaining cards would have done a better job at planning around that, and yes, no audio because I wouldn’t have had time to submit the game otherwise :(

Neat spells. Just missing a lot of elements that are needed to make it a game, mostly movement

Hi! Yeah, most of the combat (and therefore the game itself, basically) was rushed to at least try and deliver something on time, but I’m glad you liked the spells!

Great art. The gameplay was tough to follow though.

Developer

Hi! Yeah, combat was rushed in the last 24 hours so many corners where cut, but I wanted to put something out there at least. Also, art is not mine, original artists are credited in the description, be sure to check their stuff out too!

Cool concept and love the art, with a bit of polish this would be awesome! You should attach a preview image to show off the artstyle

Hi, glad you liked the idea! I had thought of this character a while ago, and the topic of the jam gave me a way to use it, so I just tried to do something with it! And just added the cover image, thanks for the suggestion!
