How does the game fit the theme?
The game requires the player to collect as many biscuits as he can in each run. During the run, there're different stages where the difficulty increases more and more over time. On each new difficulty there will be a multiplier, both for the biscuits value and damage of threats. The player can stop the run whenever he wants to cash in his cookies, or he can risk going thru the next difficulty, and possibly double his rewards.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
1 asset is from a payed pack i bought a long time ago. This is the explosion particle effect

How many people worked on the game?

To make a working Unity game at 14 is a massive achievement

Developer

Thanks!

Dude for real as a 14 year old you made a really awesome game!! I takes me back when i was 14 and making games like these. Only i couldn't do what you did in a week back then! I'm honestly really really impressed. I think that if you aspire to learn more and grow as a developer you might have a bright future ahead of you! Thanks for the nostalgic experience :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, man! I really appreciate your comment, it means a lot to me. And I will try to learn as much as possible in the next coming years. Again, thank you so much!

Hey, as a first Jam entry and a solo creator you've already done really well, so congrats on that alone. I do think your game needs work but don't all our entries. Keep on jamming! Good luck

Developer

Thanks!

Wow, thank you so much! You're the first to say that! Which sprites were in your opinion missing? I'd love to hear. Thank you so much again, I really appreciate your comment!

Developer

Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to delete your comment ):

Congrats on participating in your first game jam! I liked the UI, and the game has potential!

Developer

Thanks! I really appreciate that!

Nice game. Well done.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Nice game, visuals were clean and pleasing. Fell off the map a few times xD. I would have liked to seen combat as more of a focus, as it was difficult to see what my attacks were doing. Good job overall though!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your comment! And yes, the combat wasn't fully what I wanted it to be, but that's a part of the jam: not being able to finish stuff you want. Anyway, thanks again!

Congrats on making your first game! I wish the movement was more responsive and the attack was easier to use but the UI is very good, gj!

Developer

Thank you so much! This was not my first game though. It was my first 2D game. Before I had made a few 3D games. And yes, the movement and attack responsiveness have been mentioned multiple times. And if I ever get back to this game, I will definitely fix this! Thank you for the comment!

Good game. The movement and the interaction feedback could've been improved. Otherwise, the UI and the  VFX are very good looking. Keep up the good work !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! If I had more time, I would've definitely addressed these.

For 14 you should be very proud of this

I did find it a bit difficult to kill enemies.

But a full upgrade tree, pretty amazing for your first 2D game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. And I'm definitely proud of this. I did make a few 3D games before this, but this was the first time I made a 2D one. And yes, I also noticed that killing enemies was harder than it should be, and I couldn't figure out why this exactly was happening. I would've definitely fixed that if I had more time. Again, thanks for your kind words!

pretty good game, you should have focused more on movement and responsiveness than upgrading and and the cool ui,  the ui effects were awesome! like the sliding and the upgrade board, really cool

Developer

Thank you. And yes, I find making UI very fun. And I was also very proud of those animations. Movement was kinda a design choice at first, but multipull people have mentioned this, and so if I were to continue on this game, I would definitely improve the movement. Again, thanks a lot for the comment and kind words!

It's crazy that you made a full-fledged game at just 14! While there are some possible improvements, such as a better understanding of controls and character bouncing off enemies too quickly and being unstable due to physics, your first game is already much better than mine. Keep on making games, yeah?

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words. And yes, I will keep making games! And I would've definitely added more clarity to the game if I had more time, which I didin't. But either way, again, thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Excellent game 🎉

I like the idea that the falling objects can hurt the enemy.

However it took me too long to work out how to swing the sword.

It would also be worth checking out platformer-toolkit.

I hope that you stick with game-dev and become an awesome programmer.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the comment! I really appreciate it. And if I may ask, with what thing did you struggle exactly with the sword? It was left mouse button to swing it (like in most games). And about the platform-toolkit, if you're trying to refer to the slippery movement, it was kind of a design choice by me. Either way, thanks again for the comment, I really appreciate it!

I thought the game was keyboard only. You probably shouldn’t assume the player will know much about anything. Adding a list of controls to the itch page should remedy this.

Submitted

Well well well cookie what we have here. I was sliding all over the place lol, maybe the controls could be a bit more responsive. The explosion is cool.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hey. Thanks for the reply! And yeah, well, I can get that, but it was a little intended. Because first off I did want to make it more responsive, but that made it feel too stiff and I'm alive. So I kept this method. Thanks again, for the reply!

First game, huh? It's great! Keep improving, gamedev is cool 😎

Developer

Thanks a lot! And actually, no, this wasn't my first game. It was my first 2D game though. Before this I only had made 3D games. Again, thank you so much for the comment!

Nice work! One suggestion would be adding borders so the player doesn't fall.

Developer

Thank you for the reply. Yes, if I would've had more time, I would've definitely have adresses this. Either way, again, I really appreciate the feedback and comment!

Hi! 👋

We played this game and we think it’s really amazing! Great work on the story, graphics, and everything 👍🎮

If you have a moment, it would be awesome if you could also check out our game and leave a rating, not just a comment. It would mean a lot and help us keep improving it! 🙏

Thanks so much to everyone reading this! 😄

Developer

Hey,

Thanks a lot for leaving the comment. I will definitely be playing your game tomorrow!

Hey! 👋

Thanks a lot for your comment! We’re excited and can’t wait for you to try our game! 🎮✨

The game is not bad, I think you could make the controls more responsive, and add borders along the edges of the map so that you can't go beyond its boundaries.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the comment. Yes, if I had more time I would've definately adresses these two things. Thanks for the feedback!
