This game has such good music, sound , atmosphere, and visual effects. Your team did a great job at giving the "madness" aesthetic. A few aspects were confusing, like, I didn't understand what the second bar under the health bar was for a while, and I'm not sure if there were enough balloon animals to keep from going too insane, which in turn would make it really difficult to navigate. I was mostly just going directly up and hoping for the best. Lol.
Well, I definitely got jumpscared by that game over screen lol. Though on that screen, I didn't seem to have any option to either close out of the game, return to main menu, or try agai,n so I had to just manually close the game. Overall, though, I thought it was a decent and enjoyable experience and definitely fit in with the madness part of the theme. The main menu was very well designed, and the font choice was also decent for it, though it could be a little illegible at times for myself. The audio was also pretty good as it gave me a constant feeling of dread as I was running for my life and I feel like without that audio, I wouldn't of been jump scared so badly there on that game over lol.
Really plays on the second-person aspect well and its definitely madness. The numerous funhouse camera shifts were definitely a bit discombobulating at times, but it overall functioned pretty well. I'm glad the control scheme stayed consistent between switches as it meant you just had to adapt to the camera's perspective change and not a change in controls as well. I'm not sure if its a bug but the game didn't seem to restart or do anything after the first time I was captured by the clown. It just froze on the screen and had to be manually restarted to play again. Overall really interesting concept. I like the 2D sprites in a 3D world, it helps add to the madness as well.
That was an interesting one. I really like the audio choices for this one, they fit the vibe perfectly. The running away from the camera aspect was really cool, especially when the camera angle started changing and shaking. I will say though, I was able to mostly just hold W without consequence. There was a couple points where I couldn't see my character at all and they were clearly stuck on something. Getting my character on screen in these situations took long enough for the clown to catch up to me. Once caught and the clown face jump scare was over, the clown just disappeared and I was able to continue on as if nothing happened. I don't know if I was supposed to die or take damage but I seemed fine. Regardless, I liked the style of the game and use of the theme. You guys did great.
While I have some issues with the game, I can't lie this is a really creative take on the runner style games and I think it has potential. Not to mention too it's pretty goofy and got a good laugh from me. To start off with the good I like the font choice and UI design in most areas except for the two progress bars that are in the top left which are very basic. Sound effects and design were also pretty nice and fit the the theme of the game but please turn the sound when you lose or die to the clown, my whole family heard that lol.
As for the game play, it's simple and basic enough to understand even when you are not told what the controls are. However, there are certain areas where I either could not see my character at all or stuff that was hitting me and it caused me to die pretty much every single time which was frustrating. I get the fact that its a horror game and the clown you are controlling is likely high which is why there is an abundance of weird camera angles but everything that is relevant should still be visible and not off the screen or super obscure. Still though good work on the game, I can tell you guys had lots of fun with it, just don't forget to list the roles for each team member in the credits page!
