I assume it was bugged as I couldn't get past the timed tutorial at the start of the game. Not sure why it's timed though, it stressed me out haha. I did watch the trailer and it looks like a fun and relaxing game hence why I was confused about there being a timer. The knitting mechanic looked fun as well as tying up the enemies.

I do plan to revisit some games in the future so if there's a new build I'll check it out!

Jam Host(+1)

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!

So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.

So right up front, I was unable to do anything after the tutorial level. Not only could I use the keyboard to select the three menu options, I couldn't use anything to continue on. I could use ESC to get the menu for exiting to desktop, but that was the only thing that worked.

That said, based on the tutorial there are already a few things I can suggest.

First, if a dog is stationary but in the path of sheep, the sheep should still be driven to avoid it. This then has the dogs working together, as you can place one dog ahead of time to cut off sheep from running a certain way. This would make guiding the sheep around much easier.

Second, if a dog flips a sheep over, that sheep should immediately move away. This is in the same vein as above. However, rather than going by the position of the dog, it should be based on where the majority of the sheep are (aka it should run a short distance from the dog in the direction the majority of sheep are, at least until outside of the dog's range). That way, the dog who flipped the sheep is immediately in a position to guide the sheep back to the flock.

I also noticed that the pathing for dogs can get caught on certain terrain if the drawn path is a bit off and cuts too close to said terrain (particularly fences). This is something that will need to be adjusted to smooth it out and make the dog run around properly.

Otherwise, what I see here is a great start. I just wish I could've played more. Let me know if you update it and I'll give it a more proper go.

Thanks a ton for your time and feedback. We realized what was happening with the menus and just pushed a fix. Sorry about that! If you do get a chance to play it again, we would greatly welcome any more feedback you have.

Hey, just watched your stream of the game. You can skip the tutorial by pressing escape and quitting to title screen!

Also, we think we fixed the specific bug that you experienced while playing. It had to do with some menus that were hidden on accident.
