How does the game fit the theme?
You quite literally risk it for the biscuit (kingdom), Wager dice to try and roll a target range, use items as modifiers
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used sound effects from Pixabay, the code was by Skwidge and I, art by the ever talented Jar
How many people worked on the game?3

A nice game with engaging sound effects
Thank you for playing!
This was quite a nice game to play, well done
Thanks so much! 😁
For some reason I’m not able to launch the executable. I do have a javascript runtime environment already on my pc but I launch the exe, it shows up in task manager for a few seconds, then closes. I even tried adjusting the <jar> tag in the launch4jConfig.xml file to point to the CookieConquest.jar file in my folder but that didn’t seem to work.
Hey! thanks for trying to play our game haha. I won't lie,, I'm not completely sure why this is happening. the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you're running the CookieConquest.exe file from the CC2 (now CC3 due to a recent bug fix) folder. the exe pretty much just links the jar file to the jre folder found within it. it should work even if you don't have java installed on your computer. I don't think that the current java file should affect it. also, I'm not sure editing the launch4jxml file would fix the issue, I don't think the xml file affects the current version of the exe wrapper, though if it does, it would likely break it as the exe uses relative paths to find the jar and exe file. anyways, I hope my rambling was at all helpful, but either way I appreciate the comment!
I tried the new one and I do actually get some errors this time but have no idea what to do about em. I’ll keep watching for updates and see if anything helps. Good luck!
Really nice art, decently fun gameplay, and it's awesome that you made it without a game engine, but I feel like maybe you should port this to a game engine? The artwork's too vibrant to not have animations along with it, and it would enhance the basic gameplay if we could see the dice being rolled.
Also I do think that being able to get through the later levels is very RNG, which I mean, the whole game is, but it doesn't feel nearly as much fun towards the end.
I hope you keep working on this, it could be really great with a bit more bells and whistles.
Thanks for playing! I agree with you that we probably should have used a game engine but, none of us knew how 😅 . We had a lot of ideas for items and even new special dice but, we simply ran out out time. The ranges definitely need a bit of tweaking. Keep an eye out for future updates. Thanks again for playing!
