How does the game fit the theme?
The King plays chess to earn his coin—and indulge in new sweets
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I didn’t use any asset packs or third-party resources—everything was made from scratch. I drew inspiration from the design of Balatro and Gambonanza

Extremely solid Balatro-like, I liked that you had to puzzle out the best pieces to take. I imagine there's a lot you can add to this, for example deck manipulation (? some way to control the moves you draw).
Wow as a solo indie game developer I admire you, this is really cool game
Awesome game with great visuals, only feedback is that there should be reward for clearing the board. Great job!
Great game, took me a while to work out what I was meant to be doing but then I found the tutorial in the description which was really well laid out. Well done, one of my favourite games of the jam so far
Absolute banger! The inspiration is clearly visible and its very fun spin to it. The visuals are fitting. The music is amazing!
The gameplay is fantastic! It took me a couple of turns to see what was happening because it goes very fast, but after a couple of turn you get used to it. My chess is pretty rusty, but with the simple implementation i felt comfortable pretty soon. The addicting loop and the short rounds feel great and i told myself the whole time "only one more round"
Great game! Good job!
I like the ideia, but suck at chess. Even so, had fun
The core loop is solid and it's obvious why a lot of people is playing it, so well done!
Sadly the theme seems forced, at the point that the sweets as "jokers" are a bit nosense...
If you want to update this after the jam I suggest to find a visual identity because otherwise the game will always seem a copycat, it doesn't matter if the gameplay has its uniqueness.
(In addition to the Balatro aesthetic I also recognize the cover art from The King is Watching eheh)
Anyway you surely have not common skills for having done this in a week so be proud of you!
And... if you try mine, let me know what you think!
Visuals are clean, gameplay is smooth and intuitive, everything just meshes together and works really well, great job
Thank you!
Не ощютил дух балатро, но поиграть приятно
так это и не балатро)
I really enjoyed playing your game thank you
nono, THANK YOU
Nice! Balatro + Chess, great idea and execution! :)
What an amazing game! and it was made by one person? that is really impressive
yes, hahah, thank you so much
The art is really good, and the music is amazing! Congratulations on making the game yourself!
The game is quite interesting, but I found it difficult to understand how it works. Many times, I'd make a move and not understand why I'd win or lose.
Another piece of feedback would be to include the option to disable the letters' movement. This, combined with the rounded design of the main screen, gave me a headache after only a short time playing.
Very addictive game! the black pieces seen a little too hard to see sometimes, and it made quite difficult to play with that, but other than that, had a really good time!
Amazing game, gave me balatro vibes
Really awsome game, I kinda sucked at it, but I still had alot of fun. ^-^
Really impressed how you were able to make something so polished! Great job had a blast playing it.
Woah dude how did you manage to craft all of that in a week, this is really impressive. Also this recipe is sooo addictive everytime, it almost made me like chess haha ! Congrats on the entry !
The balatro type score system really suits the game! If it was developed on and made a full fledged game, I can see this in my steam library already :D. Great work!
Excellent quality game - really polished and has style
Happy to hear it
