Nice cute little game, well done!

Submitted

I'm in love with the aesthetic. This is quite different from the other games and it's quite refreshing. The gameplay itself is intuitive and it's so quick enough to pick up and play. The bgm itself is quirky and fitting enough despite the time crunch. Love the game!

I dunno why but the bomb cutting off the music immediately made me laugh! I do wish there were more risks involved with. Otherwise solid game!

Developer

thank you

Kinda funny take on the saying. Its a charming little game, well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback

A fun little jam game. Love the visuals. The music is okay. Not totally sure what the goal is, and do the game has and end if you never dies. But overall a fine and pretty well made jam game.

Developer

the music is not my proudest composition mostly because I was on a time crunch

but the game before the sound was Kinda unsettling so I added music/sound

regardless thanks for playing

Nice game, very enjoyable! I liked the explosion effect - seems really powerful :)

Submitted

Fun and simple game. I suggest that you put some boundaries, as I went too far on one side, and the game was still playing

Submitted

cool idea. i realized jumping stopped all momentum, maybe keep it?

Submitted

Pretty difficult to play but ultimately quite fun. And I love the art style!

Developer

thanks for playing, you are not the only one to think its difficult

I play tested a lot and got in a lot of practice and that's probably why I don't think its that hard

here a tip: the big cookie will slow go to the center so if you master that skill you can pull off some cool tricks

also don't forget to jump at first its har to control but when you get used to it the gameplay feels more fun

A simple game, but worked well with the theme, the physics are very enjoyable, an awesome game!

thank you I appreciate it a lot because I joined the jam late I did not have a lot of time and my goal was to keep it simple so I could focus on the gameplay and visuals

Simple but nice idea! I just wish the boat would move a little faster, because even with the warnings it was really hard to get the cookies. Either way, good work ^^

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing and the  feedback,

and... I thought about making the boat faster but I like having a good challenge in my games and if it was too easy it might not be as fun

Submitted

Fun idea! Personally felt the boat moved a little slowly sometimes an the RnG of being able to reach the cookie in time felt a little unfair. That said, the warning indicator really helped, and it just meant I had to wait quite a bit of time before collecting many cookies. I would love to see you up the ante somehow with some more obstacles or maybe waves throwing you off balance etc. I also didnt understnad the behaviour of the giant cookie, it felt like it had an engine and would just start moving.
Loved the art style though, nice and polished experience good stuff!

Developer

I appreciate you trying my game,

the giant cookie is the biscuit and you have to balance it wile trying to avoid bombs and collect cookies

I implemented a behavior in the cookie to make balancing it easier and less frustrating so if the cookie is on the boat it will try to slowly make itself to the center

also if the boat were to go much faster it would make the game harder because of the physics

Nice simple game you made! Very simple controls it was all good. Nice you had warning where the bombs drop aswell.

It would also been nice to have warnings for the biscuits so I could collect them easier. But overall it's a simple game that you made, well done!

Developer

thanks and you got it

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I added the biscuit warning :)

Submitted

I played it again, it's much better with the biscuit warning! Well done!

Nice balancing game and style. A bit of a luck game where not much cookies fell down compared to bombs.

I also did not completely get the purpose of jumping. But nevertheless it was nice to play.

Developer

thank you for playing and I will make sure I fix that bug

Submitted(+1)

It's a biscuit on a boat... which makes it a biscuit boat. Ingenious. Sadly, I did not perform very well, and could not confirm whether the game has an ending or not. Will someone tell me the ending? It would mean the world to me :) Cheers

Developer

thanks for playing and I'm glad you liked it

the short answer is the physical game does not have an ending yet. however the game does have some lore ;)

the cookie is very hungry in the middle of the sea and the more cookies it gets the hunger it gets.

so if you where to do this for a day or so the cookie would get so hungry it eats all the cookies* and the game resets

*why do you think in cookie clicker when you click the cookie smaller cookies come out of it

I absolutely love the concept here! Balancing between keeping the biscuit on the boat and avoiding bombs is a simple but really clever way to keep the player multitasking. However, a few notes:

- I've noticed that it's almost impossible to get the cookie back to the center of the boat once it gets past a certain point. This makes things a bit frustrating, since you can kind of just lose after a point. I'm not quite sure what physics changes could be made to fix this, but being able to control the cookie a bit more would make the game a hundred times better. (Apparently you can launch the biscuit with Space? Putting the controls somewhere in the game or at least on the Itch page would be really helpful.)

- Maybe my screen is just too small, but it doesn't feel like you have nearly enough time to react to the bombs - if one falls on the cookie, you just lose. Maybe having a "Warning marker" in the sky to show where incoming bombs are about to drop, or just making them fall slower, could help? Making the cookie smaller could help, too.

- The hand-drawn art style isn't anything fancy, but I found it really charming! Props for making all the art yourself. The color scheme is also solid.

- It feels like other biscuits and blocks don't fall very often, I rarely even saw one over the course of a round. Maybe I just got unlucky.

- The music is a bit discordant, but again, props for making it yourself! The sound effects minus the bomb are a bit loud, though, and the main menu could really use some sounds or some music - or rather, they don't seem to work on the main menu when the game loads, only when you go back to the main menu after losing.

Overall, I really like the concept and I think there's a lot of potential, but I feel like it just relies a bit too much on luck right now. With a bit of polish, though (namely to the physics and the speed of the bombs/the amount of time you have to react), I could see this becoming really good! Great work, especially since you started late!

Developer

thanks a lot for the feedback it helps a ton

I think fix it and make it less frustrating and more enjoyable

Developer

I updated it using your notes enjoy!

Cool game. The art is nice and simple.

I wish I could move the boat without tilting it because it made it hard to balance the cookie with limited controls. I found out the space button launches the cookie that's fun. Really love the art style and look of the ocean along with the sound and visuals

thanks for the feedback and i'm glad you liked it, also try typing in "gameboy"
