How does the game fit the theme?
You can run straight to the boss or risk clearing rooms for better weapons, you can buy health, or waste your cheese on weapon gacha machines.

And most importantly... You risk it for the biscuit by jumping into a portal to hell to get it back.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Tiny snippets of code were reused from my old projects, tileset is a modified version of the one listed in the credits, "blood" sprites come from an ancient project of mine, font is Cute Pixel, sprite for boss projectiles is a recoloured sprite from my other game, slimes are copy-pasted from that game.

The art is really cool. Great work!

This is really cool. Its fun and love the art style and color palette. Its got a lot of depth already. I would like to see this polished up with sound of course. I think more than sound was the lack of any visual feedback and juice also.  Still was terrific to play though with solid controls.

The visuals are fantastic, and the mouse is absolutely adorable! I loved all the art featuring him!
The gameplay is super fun, I had a great time playing.
I did have a bit of trouble spotting where the doors were on the map; maybe some extra lighting or a highlight could make them stand out more.
Overall, congrats on putting together such a polished game in such a short time!

This was a lot of fun. The map is huge for such a short amount of time. Great job! Its super fun and trying to find the best weapon is awesome!

This was such a funny and creative premise. Playing as a rat sent to hell definitely stands out in the best way. I loved the art style, and the variety in enemies, rooms, and items kept things engaging throughout. The map was also really helpful and made navigating the game much easier.

I was a little unsure about where to go at the beginning, but I eventually figured it out. One small suggestion would be to include an enemy type that can be taken out in a single shot, just to add a bit more punch to the combat pacing. Also, the idea of akimbo guns could be a fun addition if you’re looking to expand the arsenal.

Overall, this was a unique and entertaining entry with a lot of charm. Great job.

Wow the gameplay and artwork is amazing! The game is pure adrenaline and addiction! This game is amazing that is was done in such a short time! A couple suggestions:

  • Maybe add a dash or dodge to make combat more engaging
  • Make it fit the theme more

Overall well done!

There is a dash and even dodge :P

Right-click. When you move and press right-click you dodge roll in the movement direction, when you’re stationary, you’ll dash backwards. It gives you immunity frames for the entire duration of the animation.

oh damnm sorry i missed it will update rating
