no idea why it hits 100% usage and tdp max on a 4090, quite short if you know what your doing, impressive that nearly everything including music was made from scratch. I hope its just poorly optimised and not a crypto miner

Developer

Haha XD, Sorry about all that dude, No its Crypto Miner or anything like that, The Reason it performs so badly is because the game is Veryyyyy Badly optimized and I focused more on graphics this time around rather than Performance which is a major Oversight on my behalf, The bad optimization stems from quite a few things but most notable its from Compiler errors while entering different levels (especially when you get the cookie and win) and The Most major Flaw is that I for some reason had all the light sources in my Game set to REALTIME Shadows which is fine with one or two light sources but with like 36 Realtime lights There's a clear answer as to what went wrong, I completely forgot all about Optimization which isn't difficult at all for me and can easily be fixed but the Realtime lighting is super embarrassing XD and i totally forgot it was enabled by default and All this has reminded me another thing, I think i might've just accidentally left Realtime lighting ON on a dew of my other games so yeah, I've got some major bug fixing to do still, Thankyou for letting me know it was severe severe enough it was lagging on a 4090 build. I didn't think it was that severe :D

Btw, The game does work fine on my laptop even when its a built exe, and so it is possible your PC is facing a CPU bottleneck ( assuming its a Custom Build)

Cool! I actually like the wide fov, it gives the sense of being this little creature running around. My biggest issue was the look sensitivity- It took a lot of effort to turn at all. Other than that, it could have used more obstacles/hazards to make it feel more risky. But very vibrant and fun environment with some really cool lighting effects. Sick music, especially on the end screen! Nicely done!

Thankyou Glad you enjoyed :D

Developer

Thankyou, Glad you got hit with some nostalgia and that you enjoyed it :D

Love the raccoon, the art style and music are awesome — especially the music, I really enjoyed it. Canโ€™t believe you made such a polished game all by yourself in just 7 days, great job!

Developer

Thankyou for the comment, the kind words and the Rating :D, Glad you enjoyed my minigame

I had to say this is probably one of the better 3D games I've played this jam, and considering you've done them all by yourself, it surely is such a feat. The world is beautifully crafted and looks amazing, it felt lived in as well for some reason. The music is great and complements the world well. The gameplay is basically a walking simulator, but I'd argue there's nothing wrong with that. Generally, the game is really well-made and polished. Well done!

For some criticism, the most important point I would like to bring up would be motion sickness. I myself am quite prone to motion sickness, and the distorted wide-angle just makes it super worse. For the short duration of the game, I need to get up twice just to let the dizziness die down. I would suggest an option to turn that off if necessary,  FOV sliders options, and also a simple crosshair. These are the common accessibility options that can help people such as me go through the game. Another minor issue I've found is in the vent maze, where the player character always comes to a complete halt when touching the wall. I would suggest allowing the player character to "slide" along the wall if the collision angle is not that great. This should make navigating the maze less annoying,

Anyway, the game looks cool and I do like it quite a bunch. Well done!

Developer

Thankyou :D, Will definitely add the options menu and the updated player movement in a future update :D

I am impressed with how vibrant the world is. The motion blur when walking was a bit disorienting, but overall it is a very solid submission. Nice work!

Thankyou :D

downloadable :(

Developer(+1)

Yeah sadly it was my only option, it could have been a web game but it was very poorly optimized and when i tried building it to WebGL it lost all the textures for some reason and i just decided to settle for old reliable downloadable exe. Will try and fix in the future :D

I'm very impressed by anyone making a 3d game in a jam, let alone one person and one as polished as this. The view when getting to close to a box, the low camera angle, it felt like running around as a racoon. Unfortunately the game was quite short but that's understandable given the time you had and the amount of work that went into this.

Room for improvement: the lighting inside the vents could be improved. When getting to close to a wall the light gets extremely bright, which can be uncomfortable for the eyes. Also in the vents, I kept getting stuck at walls when trying to turn around corners. This could be made smoother.

Developer

Thankyou, I really appreciate the Advice and notes i will definitely fix this as soon as i can in a future update :D

Really cool game! The visuals are very polished, and the music is really good! The intro also made it look very professional :)

Only thing I saw was that the jumping was a bit delayed, but other than that not really.

Well done :D

(did I just get rickrolled in a game jam game...)

Thanks :D

Nice. Great idea for a game and nice concept of an racoon stealing food.

Thankyou : )

I loved the vibes and the premise is definitely something I haven't seen before! Although the objective wasn't very clear from the start and the game lacked some optimization (my pc fans roared in agony), this was still a really fun game!

Developer

Thankyou, Glad you enjoyed :D

The game was fun and the premise was definitely new. Never played as a raccoon before and I liked how low the camera was. The movements were a bit funky and the camera + bright lights made me very uncomfortable, but maybe that's just a skill issue. Anyway, nice work!

Developer

Thanks :DDD

This one was really pleasant to go through! Everything is very polished. The player can stick to terrain that you try to walk into, which made me stick in the vents sometimes. There wasn't a lot of action, but it was very chill to platform into the bakery. Great job!

Developer

Thankyou :D

I enjoyed it. I will say the fish eye camera lens was a bit disorienting. I also noticed that there didn't seem to a way to exit out of the game. I had to use alt f4. But overall it was very fun game. Well done!

Developer

Thankyou for the Review, I really appreciate it :D , as for the quit button there is actually one baked into the main menu to easily quit the game but i think you might've missed XD. Still I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

The intro splash screens are so polish and look very profesional, I really like them! They are a little slow, I think that the controls could be presented in-game maybe, but It's a good solution considering the limited time available.

The visuals are so nice! I love the environment with these bright colors. The concept is very unique, but I feel so sad for the poor hungry raccoon :,)

Developer(+1)

Thankyou, I really appreciate your Feedback and don't worry rest assured the raccoon gets his tiny Racoon like fingers on at least 5 Giant cookies at the end of the game :D

I'm happy to hear that :D

Nice work! Very eye popping visual design! Hardcore parkour! Whoop <3 (*would be nice if there was some enemies to engage with and perhaps some more landmarks in the vent labyrinth)

Thankyou :))

I really like the concept here, and the art style / music is amazing! I got through the maze pretty quick (luck I guess lol), so would have appreciated a bit more content, but honestly the level of polish you got to with a week jam as a solo team, that's pretty impressive!

My feedback would be:

- Player controls felt a bit weird when pressing W+A at the same time, It felt like I kept getting stuck. Also it was a bit difficult to jump, I think it was an issue with doing it while running? not sure

- Physics was a bit janky with the boxes/walls, nothing major but could use a little tuning

- Agree with others, the intro is cool, but way too long. My suggestion would be to only stick to 2 intro screens (your logo, game logo), and then move all the controls info to a seperate screen (accessible in UI + game if possible)

- Add a volume meter, everyone's audio settings are going to be different and the music was very loud for me by default

Developer

Thankyou so much, I totally understand and you've listed nearly every single one ;D, Glad you took the time to comment them and to Find them, Ill be sure to Patch out as many as i can after the jam (if the game gets any foot traffic at all)
Thankyou ;>
