How does your game relate to the theme?
since the theme was against the clock, i wanted to make something about feeling like you're always running out of time, like you're wasting away.

Daym. Kinda felt similar here. I do doomscrolling in day 1 to 3 of the jam depends on how fast I can come up with an idea that is simple yet have some twist in it. And the fear of not making it on time is spot on. I mean look at my game, incomplete, no sounds, no title screen, no lose screen. But I still submit to entertain you all and a chance to som meneh lol.

I like the animated slides, visual novels I see are usually static images so this one is new to me. I also like the drumming mascot. :)

Developer(+1)

yeah i get that, sometimes i want to make something unique, something that feels different but still within my abilities. thank you for playing and sharing and im glad someone recognised the drumming mascot AHAHA

its feels like reading someone diary.

Developer

thank you for playing! I didnt really consider that it would read like a diary but thats really interesting! could be fun to explore further in the future :3

the narrative hits me close lowk. i'm very bad at sticking with something that i've started, i don't know whether its undiagnosed mental disorders or if that's just how i am, but its always something i've struggled with and it feels like i will always struggle with it. because of that, i told myself about two years ago that i was going to participate in a bunch of jams and build up a portfolio.

i have only done three.

i've started about twelve, and thought about starting much more than that.

i saw this jam as an opportunity to put something out there without worrying if it was perfect, and this time i really did push myself to work on it every day and not give up. i ended up with something i'm actually really proud of and might even work on in the future.

this game isn't the longest, or most replayable, or had the most gameplay, but its still a game. and i think you interpreted the theme in a way that nobody else would have and made something even through your troubles.

and thats all not to mention that the art is stellar!

i really hope you decide to make more stuff in the future, i think it would be a waste of your talents to not.

thank you for playing! even though they're jams, it doesnt take away from the fact that making a game is a lot of work and that weighs down on people. it might feel like it's only three but that's still three projects that you've completed on your own time. I appreciate hearing from you a lot, and thank you for your comments!

I loved the animations so much! I think most people have this feeling of "wasting time" or that it's not good enough, and this game captures those feelings well o(TヘTo)  and it fits the theme well too, very relatable.

aaaa thank youuu, and yess!! its so easy to get caught up in needing every second to be productive and having all your hobbies be something that earns money or creates content somehow but it's not always sustainable. thank you for trying it out

If you download my game, the Unity file is called “Risk It for the Biscuit”, which was actually the theme for Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2.

I originally started building a project for that jam, but halfway through, I got cold feet. I kept overthinking, doubting whether I was good enough, and eventually dropped out. Then I came across this Jam, and then  just decided to make something, anything new. I guess the name of the jam put less pressure on me.

I genuinely thought I was the only one going through something like this. Thanks for making a game that says otherwise, really, really love it.

I would definitely love to make a game with you someday :)

Developer

yeah i definitely get it, the bigger jams give you better exposure but they're a lot sometimes. im glad you were able to make a game eventually though, and that sounds like fun!! we be doing our best :>

Doing a jam is always full of challenge and doubt.

My first one was the GDTV jam 2024 with over 1000 submissions.  I honestly thought my game would never get looked at, or get any feedback.

What I found though is that people will still look at it, rate it and give feedback.  Even if it is simple or unpolished.

The communities in the jams are always what brings me back.  A few of my followers on itch are people I communicated with in the jams I've been in and I've encountered a few of them in other jams as well.

There will always be doubt, but the majority of people in the jams are in a similar position.  Trying them out for the first time or using them to learn new systems, mechanics and ideas.

We all want to win and make the best game, but even if you don't make what you want, you won't be left behind.  There are always some people that will play, rate and give feedback.  I like to think I'm one of those people and I always try to give feedback that can be useful.

The visual style is crazy. Not that fun, but it tells a good story. Great interpretation of the theme!

Developer

definitely agree, this probably has the least game elements out of everything i've done haha, but still, thank you for playing!!!

Went through the story.

The narrative approach with scrolling text and animations on the screen representing your "doom" scrolling work to tie the narrative together and give variation to the visuals.

The unpolished nature of the visual style fit the story about what it's like to try to start in a game jam and make something.

If all of these decisions where intentional, I think you definitely have a talent for connecting game visuals to narrative story telling.

While going through it, I couldn't help but think that you could probably do a narrative driven game around doo scrolling and mobile gaming.  Where maybe you have sections of narrative and doom scrolling mixed with minigames that prompt with fake ads, micro transactions and artificial limits (like pay x amount to continue now or wait 2 years).

Developer(+1)

thank you for trying it out!! the idea of ads and things definitely makes sense and it would add more gameplay elements too! It's really nice to hear your thoughts about it :>

very relatable

Developer

glad you found it so!! :>
