Description
A cinematic OST for a visual novel game about an introverted girl who lost her mother and feels she meets her again in a form of a local cat at their family sea shore vacation hut.


1. A Night in Your Eyes
The girl spends the night with her newfound feline friend and feels a connection between them.


2. Sunrise Waltz
The duo go on an adventure and play around the shoreline, engaging in various fun activities (Made to be loopable).

3. Goodbye, Although We'll Meet Again
The girl leaves with her father and it is revealed that the girls mother always assured them that after she passes "they will find her and be together again, even if just for a brief moment; a summer night.

I'm quite new to composing orchestral music and although I only composed 3 minutes of music I'm really proud of what I made. I wanted to go for a happy/sad/nostalgic vibe that fit the picture theme and I later came up with the idea for what kind of game it could be, based of the music.

I used FL Studio 2025, all parts were wrote by me, no AI tools were used in the making of this project.

I like how wistful and gentle all of this is, it's great for all the mystical story with some emotional sad overtones about having to say goodbye to things that you love. The first track nails this right on the head, the music box(?) and the lower strings add a ton of warmth to the composition. Really just want more of this, great stuff!

This is really good and fits well with the story. It all feels kind of magical, but my favorite is the first track by far. I just wish it all was longer, also the ending of the second track is a bit too sudden imho. Great work!

I thought that the pieces were really fitting with the narrative! Despite what the comment below says, I feel that the tone could fit perfectly with the story. It felt more like a Ghibli movie that way, and that's pretty damn good. 

Your idea behind the narrative was really beautiful and it definitely was a great beginning to your orchestral composing journey :)

This is a sweet story and soundtrack. I think you've really nailed the kind of pure innocent joy that you get from playing with a cat. I think you could make this project better if you leaned into the nostalgic/sad mood you were shooting for, you could try experimenting with suspended chords, or a section in a minor key maybe could add to that feeling. Regardless, your project was very pleasant to listen to and I enjoyed the accompanying story you wrote for it!

The vibe you made with the music is quite good and relaxing. 

Something I would like to see is how your composition works with the theme further than just the setting it takes place in. Tell me why you went with a waltz and whatnot. That kind of thing can go a long way in immersing the listener to the music.

That's good to know. Since this is my first OST Composing Jam, I'll make sure to do so next time. Otherwise, a waltz always felt very playful to me, so I made one for a part of the game where you play with a cat and go on adventures.

Sunrise Waltz was so delightful and Goodbye made me tear up somehow, that's never happened to me before just from listening to something alone. Great soundtrack, well done.
