Description
You are a lost soul who set sail after a spat with your parents, chasing the horizon in your trusty little boat on one fateful summer eve. You wake up on a strange island that seems quiet, until night falls. That’s when the frogs come out. A full-on festival erupts, a band croaks away at the center of it all, and the night never seems to end.
A Summer in Frogland is a mystery RPG where you’ll make friends, find foes, and stumble through secrets hidden beneath the frogs’ eternal party.

Track Info:
Summer Night:
The everyday soundtrack of Frogland, soft, breezy, deceptively carefree. Frogs hop about, music drifts through the air, and the night feels endless… almost too endless.

The Band Master:
Cue this when you approach the enigmatic conductor of the frog band. He commands every note with flair, but under the bravado… is there something darker lurking behind the baton?

A Froggy Fair:
The festival bursts to life as the frogs toot, bang, and croak in glorious harmony. Someone’s always a little too loud, but hey, anything to get the concertmaster’s attention.

Something Amiss:
Step into the forest beyond the laughter and light, and the party feels preeeetty far away. A chill runs through the trees, as if some hidden deity is tugging invisible strings.

Longing:
A quiet gaze back toward the sea. Waves whisper of home, but the horizon offers no return, only the memory of where you came from.

Each track was composed with Reaper and a variety of VST plugins. The subject matter was heavily inspired by Over the Garden Wall. Image made with AI.

Theme

One Summer Night

How does it fit the theme?
Summer in Frogland twists the idea of one summer night into an endless one—where the festival never stops, the frogs never tire, and the air hangs between joy and unease. It captures the mystique, fun, and strange exhaustion of a summer night that refuses to end.

Neat soundtrack, I liked the variation :)

I really enjoyed the performances :)

They were very relaxed and felt exactly like what was explained - a brilliant little frog jam.

Really strong Animal Crossing vibes on this one, I like it. The premise also reminded me of Miyazaki movies which can never be a bad thing.

The tracks sound so whimsical and cozy, an awesome submission!

This is really fun! Quite a fun submission, title track and second track remind me a lot of animal crossing, which is great! Very charming OST, well done!

Very charming tracks, nicely done. I thought of Over the Garden wall straight away before I'd even read your description! Something Amiss is very lovely.

A summer frog festival is a fun and unique way to work the theme and the music fits it very well!

The trumpet VST you used especially is perfect for this theme.

The whole OST is just oozing with whimsy and charm that you can't help but imagine the frogs in their little band gear playing for a festival. I imagined it looking like the Princess and the frog (which is my favorite Disney movie) so I quite enjoyed it.

My favorite was probably the band master or a froggy fair because of how much charm they had.

"That’s when the frogs come out." Okay, I'm paying attention now lol

Very whimsical, the build-up in "The Band Master" sounded like it could have been in a cartoon that references on obviously suspicious character or something of the sort. And then "Something Amiss" completely throws me for a loop with a dramatic change in tone. Nice work there!

As for feedback, I don't have a lot to say here. Your instruments play well together and seem to be mixed pretty well for. the most part. Personally, I would have liked some more intrigue about what The Band Master was hiding and what the frog deity was up to. Regardless, nice work overall!

Thank you for the feedback, I'd have loved to dive deeper with more time but jams be jammin. Thanks for the kind words.

This soundtrack has a ton of personality and charm. I liked the variety of instruments across the entire soundtrack and the accordion ties all of the tracks together nicely. Your composition skills are on full display here and it makes for an excellent soundtrack, backed by a really fun and unique idea for a game. Great submission!

Ough I'm glad the accordion use came out! I have had the privilege to be able to learn a little about it lately, and have been very inspired by it. Thanks for the kind words.

Just finished listening.

I enjoyed your ost quite a bit! The silly and whimsical opening was so warm, I really enjoyed it. The band master had a ton of character to it! same energy throughout the rest, I really really like the warm and goofy tone you carried through the entire work.

Then the last two tracks almost remind me of missing home, as if the party that never ends is great and all, but our MC realizes they miss their family, even after all this time. Almost like the plot of Where the Wild things are!

Great work, and thank you for your submission :3
