Description
Musical choice:

Lingering Images: is the main menu Looping from 0:00 - 0:37. I wanted to express a very chill moment kinda "stuck in time". This can transition to Stillness Moments every 2 bars. It made more sense to include it with Stillness Moments in one track for a smoother transition

Stillness Moments : When with a more ambient approach mixed with some sythwave and big 80's instruments. This will reflect alot more at 2:01 which is what I imagine when switching to the neon-dimension, everything is more vibrant recollecting memories piece by piece. From time to time I used some effects to make it sound like a cassette tape.

That other night : This one was a mix of Lofi, synthwave/vaporwave with rather more unique chords at the beginning creating some sort of mystery. Looping mechanics will work between 0:30 - 2:15 assuming we include the reverb tail of course. Again at 2:16 same effect goes switching to neon-dimension to create a way more lush and vibrant dynamic into the music to fit narrative

Plugins/instruments/DAW:

DAW : Nuendo 13

Plugins:
95% of my synths and bass are with sampling/granular in phaseplant. Lots of rhodes/reverb tail greating with a bunch of effects creating the diffrent tones I want.

Drums : XO by XLN Audio again using one shot samples. I usually like to seperate all the instance of percussions into individual tracks, giving me more control over what panning and what kind of effects I want, I have lots of small details and automation going on.

Piano ; Free piano samples found in pianobook.

Strings : Cinematic Studio Strings

Shoutout to Grunt for giving me a guitar sample to create of the main synth pads in PhasePlant.

Message from the artist
Hope you guys enjoy my submission :)

I did not have the time I wished for and made 2 tracks and a half only. Hopefully I expressed enough creativity with these.

Theme

One Summer Night
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
Lore/Gameplay mechanics: You are trapped in "That One Summer Night" , a night you can’t escape and cannot fully remember, repeating over and over. Shards of your memory are scattered throughout the world. Each fragment will help you restore the lot memory, and with it, the world shifts. When enough fragments have been collected the quiet night erupts into its mirrored twin: a neon-soaked, vibrant environment where every sensation feels amplified that will reveal a new core memory. To break free, you must piece together your lost memories and uncover what truly happened that night… and why it never ends.

Definitely nailed those synthwave vibes, here. Things start off a bit slow, but the payoff at 2:01 in the first track brings it all together nicely. Very lush and thick sound which the guitar lays on top of very smoothly. I don't know if I'm a fan of that last drum sample at the end of the drum loop that comes in at 0:30, but other than that "That Other Night" is a straight up vibe from that point onwards. Your snares in both tracks are so fat and juicy, they cut through the mix really nicely. Great work all around!

There's so much detail here with the percussion and synths, especially in That Other Night. This is the second song that I've heard in the jam that sounds like it'd be from Tunic, and I love it. Really cool stuff here, and it makes me super interested to try XO by XLN Audio.

Hey, these tracks vibed so much with me. I'm not really a listener of synthwave music, but your chord choices and instrumentation was spectacular! I especially love the warmth from the end of "That other night". Great job man!

Yo Fox, a really vibey couple of tracks here! Always love your rhythmic and percussion production/mixing on your tracks - the only thing that stood out quite harshly to me was the kick in track 1 as maybe too loud? But That Other Night is just out of this world, I loved listening to this, purely sat back and vibed to the emotion of those pads/sounds with the pushing and pulling of the drums making you kind of close your eyes and sway your head to the beat. For the short time you had you've expressed so much creativity it's great!

Synthwave at its finest. Has a subliminal vibe which perfectly captures the feeling of the game. Awesome job!

Gorgeous work, the transition from "Lingering Images" into "Stillness Moments" was flawless and felt so good! "That Other Night" is also fantastic, your various sounds and the effects applied on them perfectly evokes that image of memory fragments slipping away between your fingers...it's beautiful. Wonderful work, thanks so much for sharing!

Man, just really cool sounds and the overall vibe is immaculate on both of the tracks.

Listening to your submissions every jam works as a nice reminder that I should work on my production skills more😂

Cant really say anything other than stellar stuff!

Lingering Images/Stillness Moments: Great atmosphere and love the reverse piano. What a vibe. Love the synthwave feel in Stillness Moments! And that guitar pad is so cool, I need to try that sometime too.

That Other Night: Love the sound design here. So pleasant and cool at the same time. You've blended all the little elements together so well, the atmosphere had me hooked. The piano lines towards the end were beautiful.

Great work!

Very lovely atmosphere!!! I wish I knew where it was bringing me though; I think a few more songs could have done a lot to make me feel a little more integrated in your world. But what you have is still really nice and I can imagine a few different types of games that it could fit on top of. Great job!!

Wonderful harmony and ambient texture - functions so well as both a song to feel and to listen to, could definitely imagine several game or film settings this would fit well in. Amazing job with this!

Wonderful sense of atmosphere from both tracks!

Very impressive, reminds me of Ecco the Dolphin. One of my favorites for sure!

such high quality, man, you could tell me this was from a AAA game and i wouldn't have any doubts about it, it's really well produced at the point that it sounds hypnotizing, really great stuff!

When the music does the storytelling better than words!

Fantastic synthwave! It was so lush and textured that I honestly just wanted more of it : )

FoxHyode, you have done it again. Amazing work here. Just stunning. You have such a talent of making things feel so open with so much depth! Both songs were just bass for me. The synths, the background, everything. What a great submission! (I can only hope to get to your level soon bro!) Bravo!

So here we are again mister Fox!

The ambiance you‘ve created is just gorgeous and feels just cristal clear. And then the synth wave just hits perfectly.

Seconds song ambiance is also very nice and somehow reminds me a bit of the game Tunic. But also somewhat of our last song, so  it felt right at home.

Encore fois, une performance réussie !

You did a great job with instrumentation here. Ambient music sometimes tends to wander aimlessly but you made each track have a “purpose” so to speak. The retro synths were great and the guitar was killer on “Lingering Images”. Great quality all around. Awesome job!

Howdy there stranger! You're one of the first 10 I have to clear, what a coincidence XD. Although I would've searched you out regardless because I wanted to throw a comment in here anyways.

This is gorgeous dude, you knock this stuff out of the park every time. The only critique I have is that I wish there was more of this. Like in previous jams, your synth design and choice is just fantastical :)
