How did you implement the theme?
The computer system has been corrupted and infected by viruses. The only way to clear the corruption is to navigate through the hazards to reach the antivirus. It starts off simple, but each level becomes longer and more difficult. See how far you can get.
How did you add the special object?
All sound effects in the game are from an electric guitar, turning winning or dying into a jazzy bop.

Fun game, I know some people found the bug a little too hard but I enjoyed the challenge.
I love this game and the audio , it needs better visuals and it is going to e a true gem.
Cool game, feels inspired by Crossy Road because the chips move on a timer instead of responding to user movement, so you can speed through all of the levels if you mash fast enough and with intention. I feel like the blue chip is underutilized as most of the levels can be solved without ever interacting with it.
Thanks! When playtesting it, I always used the blue blocks to take out the bugs that chase you, but from the comments I think a lot of people are just doing their best to avoid them entirely.
It does seem hard to play against the bug, there is not much forgiveness to have fun with it. But other than that it seems fun. Also a numbering system to know what level you are on and so you can try to beat it next time.
Yeah, the bug is the only thing that is instakill. When playing it myself, I found it useful to start by focusing on killing the bugs before finding the safest way to the end. Maybe I can have the levels vary a little more, so not every new level brings an extra bug.
I definitely need to add a level indicator. It was on the plan, but I'm in Australia and submitted this at 2 am, so really needed to sleep.
Cool game, it would be better if there were some animation smoothing when moving on the grid instead of snapping.
Thanks. I really went back and forth on having animated movement. I did have it at one point, but thought the stepped movement worked better with the 8-bitish graphics. I might show a few people and see what they think.
I think the snappy movement makes it harder to keep track of moving blocks and predict where they are going to move next.
I feel like the bug might be slightly annoying to get past if you want to avoid the red chips but it was a fun game like a type of puzzle
Oh the bug is more than slightly annoying to get past :P When I played, I always focused on luring the bugs to the blue tiles so that I could kill them quickly, before trying to find a safe path to the end. I probably need to add a bit more variability with the bugs, so they aren't the focus of every level.
I submitted this as my first entry in a game jam. The time limit definitely made things tricky, but working with the theme and limitations was a lot of fun. I was hoping to have it submitted a few hours ago, but here I am sitting up at 2am getting it done. I have more plans for this game once I have more time to work on it.
