Description
The soundtrack is 5 minutes and 47 seconds minutes long, is in a mix of genre between indie/rock and punk rock with latin influence. It has been entirely made on Ableton LIVE 12 with Serum, Sineplayer and built-in vst.
The soundtrack is for a game heavily based on narration where the player need to navigate their way through a mystery. To do so, the player will need to find clues and evidence to guide him onto a deep truth.
The first track represent the coastal town where the game would set place, in a peaceful way and introduce a first theme.
The second track represent an old abandonned shack by the coast, where the player will meet a seemingly friendly NPC. Both the NPC and the shack is represented by a glockenspiel.
The glockenspiel theme will then by "destroyed" by the last theme, revealing the threatening nature of the second theme "The old shack"
For the first track, i've started composing the drums to have rhythmic elements fitting the theme.
Then the guitar part to make a melody.
When the first ideas where here, I tried to identify a usable and adaptable leitmotif which I used in the second and third tracks.
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
I've used "classical" summer/beach instrument and the

Love the shift from "The Old Shack" into the final track. The guitar-esque synth is a nice touch there. I like how you alluded to the chord progression in the "Breaking Point" at around the 0:51 second mark in the previous track. Nice work overall, I enjoyed this one!
P. S. I BARELY made it back to your submission before the deadline lmao but I always make it a point to listen to anyone's submission that gave me the same courtesy!
Very solid tracks, great movement through them, though it feels like this will be one terrible night to have a curse
Percussions are awesome ! Loved it, really amusing.
What a cool set of tracks. You develop the main idea so well over the course of these three tracks! My personal favourite is Breaking Point with the distorted lead!!! Very cool use of percussive elements to complement the melodies! My only advice would be to make the downbeat a little clearer by adding something in the beginning of each new part. (especially in the beginning of the Main Theme) Congrats on an amazing submission!!!
Cool soundtrack, I liked Breaking Point the most!
Love how your main theme changes course more than one time to surprise the listener without sounding like it's suddenly a different song. Very well done!
I really loved the old shack and the breaking point! And I got very pleasantly surprised by the uke in the main menu track!
Would be very curious how is would go with gameplay :0
Thank you!
I agree with the comment below, the percussion work is pretty good. Your usage of the motif is also done quite well and it's interesting to see it travel through different contexts. I really like Breaking Point a lot especially the guitar (although that might just be my love for tense music speaking) but the other tracks are also really nice (I also liked the ukulele in the Main Theme, idk why but it gives me a mix of cheery and uncertain lol).
Have a great day!
Big fan of the percussion work. Gives everything a more tropical vibe and its just fun to listen to!
BIG fan of that last track. All three of your songs have a very nice sound to them, and I loved the jump from a quiter, suspenseful song 2 to a booming, powerful song 3! Great work!
Rhythm section works nice together, Some odd chords in the ukulele, but sometimes the clash is kinda nice. Percussion writing is quite exciting. Would be curious to hear what your vision for gameplay looks like.
For the gameplay i was thinking of an RPG "Disco Elysium" style, with lots of dialogues, a sort of adventure where you need to understand what you're doing and why, instead of following a straight lined quest.
