Gravity mechanic is a lot of fun. Still needs the eyerape nerf.

Was a little confusing at first with no tutorial but once I played around a little bit I think it's a really cool project. Makes me think of a mix of Devil Daggers and Gravity Rush and I could see there being a lot of possible skill expression through making use of the gravity switching mechanic. The way that enemies kind of stick to you is a little annoying if you get caught by a group of them, maybe once one attacks, they have a short cooldown period where they back off a little and strafe around you. Overall I really enjoyed it.

pretty good rough start. Not sure how far the concept can be taken but the off level gravity stuff is real fun and has a lot of potential for complicated levels i think.

Some small notes:

the game opens on not my primary monitor on a multi monitor setup

need some "i'm taking damage" feedback pretty badly. the enemies don't feel like they do enough damage either, they walk up to me then kinda just stand there. I'd also slow them down slightly, so it's more punishing when they catch up but they don't catch up so easily.

the projectile is very bright in the center of the screen on the first frame, flashbanging me and making it obvious the projectile isn't coming out of the gun but the camera. I suggest making a particle effect that comes out of the guns and fading in the bullet particle further away from the screen and trying to make the two effects look continuous.

The guns feel way too big on screen, but at the same time so few games do this that it's kind of a unique stylistic element. maybe you can get away with it, with a few more tweaks.

i get a really bad frame drop or hitch of some kind if im standing where the holy bomb goes off.

Chaotic and fun. Played with the Shotgun and Minigun and ended up with a best score of 670k

  • the laughing when you get holy time is such a nice touch, i love it
  • the art and music is great, gives the game a really fun atmosphere
  • I think the minigun is pretty OP, i never felt threatened and idk if there is a reason to use anything else since it constantly spews bullets and everything dies in 1 hit
  • Both the weapons i used feel great. although i wish there was more feedback on killing/hitting an enemy to make it more satisfying
  • the gravity mechanic was really fun to mess with, but with the shotgun i ended up mostly dashing backwards constantly orbiting around a floating cloud of demons by the end of the timer after collecting all the time ups. Basically turned the game into a flight sim!
  • I was confused why i couldnt walk up the towers but could kind of, slide up them sometimes?
  • wish where enemies can spawn from was more clear and that their AI was more interesting than just charging you
  • i like the RE mercenaries aspect of collecting time ups, though i think it would work better with a more involved map since my strategy after the 1st run was just to shoot the hourglasses from the center of the map and get them all quickly at the start from 1 location
  • The shotgun feels good, I like it even more than the minigun even if it felt like a downgrade

Pretty sweet demo, I've played 3 of your games now and they never disappoint. Keep up the good work!

As an avid shotgun lover, I appreciate you buffing it. The real buff to it though is the gravity system. Now that enemies can come from literally any direction, distance isn't the most important value of a weapon. The issue though is the opposite now: The enemies surround you from every direction, so I felt like you no longer have to aim just shoot left and right once a while, and you'll hit something. Maybe that will change when enemy variety goes up.

Not sure if you'll see anything useful on footage:

Solid premise and it delivers. Chaotic game but I see the charm in it, it has a lot of potential.

What I liked:

1. Soundtrack

2. The nun's hysterical laugh when she goes into a frenzy

3. The fact that gravity shifts when you go from surface to surface

What I didn't like:

1. That you can't absorb shield/health if you touch it, only by shooting it you get it.

2. Stuff can get too chaotic sometimes and you end up going in circles shooting everywhere.

3. Some places between gravity shifts (like near the heart spawn point) are a bit fucky and you might not be able to jump comfortably from 1 side to the other.

Suggestions:

1. Need timer or visual feedback for the hallelujah bomb cooldown/recharge. Also for when you somehow start getting shields from killing demons.

2. Need other feedback (visual or audio) that you're being damaged aside from the red blinking. The whole scenario is red so it doesn't stand out.

the demons don't seem to handle the gravity mechanic very well. sometimes they fly across the map, get stuck, move too fast, "fall" sideways, it's a mess.
this added to the fact that enemy spawns are still not marked adds to the chaos, with things either spawning on top of you or falling sideways on top of you, ganking on you instantly from directions you are unable to expect.
the guns are a bit weird, they are pretty big and maybe pointing a bit upwards, which doesn't align very well with the aim

fucking killer soundtrack. Not sure how I feel about enemies suddenly spawning/attacking from behind or even on top of the character, but that might be what you're going for.

It seems as though someone has a _BurstDebugInformation_DoNotShip folder. Score screen is also missing a return to menu button.

The new gravity thing lets me dash left and right in this spot without touching the pillars which is probably not intentional.
