Description
Genre of game: Bossfight game
Each track represents its respective stage of grief:
1. In disbelief, I found you seated beside me:
This track describes a physical manifestation of Nyala's denial, in the form of a spirit-esque form of her brother, making things feel as if they had never changed for a time.
2. So long, Traitor:
This track describes the natural development of grief, with the next phase being anger. Our main character curses the memories of her lost Tsol, in a tortured remembrance of what once was.
3. Quaeso ad me redi:
This track follows the lines of grief to their next stop, bargaining. Nyala pleads with this illusionary version of her brother, begging him to return so they can be together once more.
4. All the color left with you:
This track is centered around the fourth phase of grief, depression. Nyala's energy is ripped out of her body, and she has to fight to retain any semblance of color within her mind.
5. Final moments, a bittersweet adieu:
Finally, we reach acceptance, through no easy struggle. Our main character is able to let go of and release this spectre of her brother. In a touching scene, Tsol pulls her back from the brink of ending it all, and they share a tender moment on a pier on which they spent many summer evenings together in their past.
We used Ableton and FL Studio to make these tracks.
Message from the artist
We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making this!
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
This soundtrack follows the protagonist in the picture along her journey through grief after losing her brother. Our vision is that it reaches a point where she contemplates ending her life - as we interpreted from this picture - and a point where she recovers from this and begins to heal.

Man this was a spiritual experience. Each track was such a journey in a very Chris Christodoulou way, slowly building up and NAILING the huge euphoric moments. I needed to pause for a minute to walk around my foom after that first track like actually wtf. Honestly I really appreciate not having a super intricate story description as the music itself is able to do so much of the talking, the imagined story here goes so crazy. This whole thing goes so crazy. This is crazy.
Means so so so so much coming from you dude. Thank you so much!!
gahhhh
Thank you for listening <3
This project was wonderful for me, and im assuming for javi as well
UUUUOOOOOGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MY TOP 1 FAVORITE SUBMISSION IN THIS JAM AND IM NOT EVEN KIDDING NOR GLAZING (if we don't include shrimp rap that is)
I literally have nothing else to say. I just love it so much, everything about it.
Edit: One small tidbit is that the story is a bit too corny for me (I just read it lol), but who tf cares, right? As long as the music is bangin' then we vibin'
Shrimp rap clears!!! We bow to shrimp rap!!!
:sob:
Maybe a bit corny, but what is the human experience if not corny?
We all have or will experience loss, right?
Thank for listening, and im glad you enoyed <3
This... Is 25/25. The sound design is probably the best I've heard on this whole jam. Each track precisely represents the girl's emotions, with my favorite being Quaeso ad me redi. The only concern is the first track being too calm for a bossfight game, but I think it still can work out very well.
We were on the fence as to whether to call this a bossfight game or a visual novel game XD.
Hopefully that clears that up. Thank you for your wonderful comment!
Incredible soundtrack! I really enjoyed the fusion of genres within each track. Two thumbs up!
You're awesome thank you!!
wow you guys did such an amazing job on this! loved it so much
yayyyy! Thank you :))
The second song with the fast arpeggios reminded me of a track that plays in the celeste DLC that has similar arpeggios.
All of the songs evolve so much to keep me interested. At times I think it may take a little too long for the songs to really get going, but once they do it's great!
Thank you for listening! :) for my tracks at least, I wanted to draw things out, sort of leading up to the fights the player would be experiencing. So in that way each track sort of has an area intro type thing, with the boss music intro theme of sorts following.
IndieKev recommended this one so I already knew it was gonna be good, but I still had to hear it for myself. This music takes you on a whole trip, it provides a good sense of progression of the journey you would be going through in your game, which is perfect if you want the music to help that feeling the players get from the story evolving around them. Good work throughout, hope to find your guy's music again in future jams!
Thanks for checking our submission out! This was our first, but definitely not our last :)
ESTEEEEEES
This was such a full ost what a great submission! I just have one very personal feedback I actually wish you could try it lol: the "I can still feel you" kinda drop on the first song, I wanted to be BLOWN by a wall of sound and I think if you had put complete silence for a split second the impact would have been even more satisfying!! Imagine a reversed sharp whoosh just a split second before the silence and then you cranking the volume there blasting us with a wall of sound. But it's a nitpick incredible work!!
PS: I'm always very perceptive of contrast as a former 2d/3d artist major (a loooong time ago), so definitely that little complete silent gap would make such a good contrast!
yooooooo
I actually usually do that for my tracks in this vein (I also am VERY aware of the power of contrast, I think I had the same sort of comment for javi while we were working on these lol), with time constraints and stuff I wasn't able to do NEARLY as much polish on this as I wanted to though lol :)
thanks for checking it out!
it didn’t detract at all from the amazing OST so all good ;)
this is really good!! i really like the melodies all throughout the soundtrack
the first song actually made me tear up a bit lol and Final moments, a bittersweet adieu is absolutely gorgeous!
guhhhh :sob:
thanks for listening <3
Wow, what a journey, incredibly impressive! I loved the sound design in In Disbelief which reminded me a bit of Ghosts by nine inch nails. Well done!
Thank you for listening and for your kind words!!
I liked how you showed the context of the stages of grief. Maybe I would have varied some of the chord progressions a little, but that’s just my personal taste. Great work, really interesting. ✨💖
Thank you for checking out our submission!
Creating harmonic and progressive variety is always a challenge, I hope to be better in that department in the future :)
This is truly the OST of life
Very powerful stuff
THE OST of all time?? Thank you for the huge compliment we appreciate it so much!
well, of life, not quite all time, but certainly the end of someone's
I misread haha
That drop on Quaeso ad me redi is fire! Loved everything and also the instrument choices. Awesome work!
Thank you so much it means so much more than you know!!
Really loved the first track on this submission, I really love the gentler intro combined with the saw stack build near the end! Also nice album cover, reminds me of some Porter Robinson ones
Holy moly dude, this is soooooo fucking good. You pulled me right in with the 2nd half of the first track and kept me on the line like a fish on a hook! I am such a sucker for this wide-open drum and guitar sound you've got going on, absolutely phenomenal work dude! Whenever I play NMS I get so curious as to how they'd compose the sound quality for the drums and guitars and you nailed that type of sound that makes feel like I'm having an out-of-body experience.
Great job!
You're so kind, thank you for your feedback!
SO HEY IM FLOATING
sobbbb
:3 thank for listen
This is a really nice submission! Lots of different vibes while still coming from the same thematic core. I love the sound design, and my favorite is the first one with the Kensuke Ushio beginning into the intense electronic second half. Well done!
Thanks so much for listening! Glad you enjoyed :)
This is great!!! The sound design in this is so satisfying, my favorites were "All the color left with you" and "So long, traitor"
Thank you for listening! :3
"In my disbelief, I found you seated beside me" was very cinematic. I liked how you used the heart beat monitor as a pulse throughout the track. You do a great job with the "huge sounding" moments, like with "All the color left with you". Nice job!
Thank you! I love making the biggg moments so muchh :D
I liked the wacky drums at the second track. The mixing is a bit rough on some tracks like the third track, but I stil enjoyed it don't get me wrong. The tracks feel complete, each having a proper beginning, climax and end.
Thank you for listening :)
