Description
Three songs, each a different genre, telling a story of a night starting good, going great, then ending in a melancholy vibe
It starts with Twelve, midnight, a good time at the club
Then follows One, an intimate moment with someone else
Finally Two, a sad departure

Each track was made in LMMS and the Timbres of Heaven soundfont

Message from the artist
While the songs can be used in sequence, they obviously don't have to

I enjoyed listening to your soundtrack :) Great submission!

The Soundcould link took me to a nonexistent soundtrack so I had to download the files.

I didn't really get the vibe that the night was going well in the first 2 songs. They felt more dangerous than good but I get that they were at a club. Two felt really different and a little generic. I would have liked to hear a sad departure still in the club style as it would make it more unique and fit better with the other 2 as an OST.

strange, the link works fine on my end, I'll set it to public, see if that helps

the way I imagined it, these songs are not played at the same place, twelve is definitely a club, one perhaps a more personal space like an apartment, and two is literally anywhere else

Vibe is great on all of these!

Arrangement wise, I'd recommend experimenting with having some sustained stuff on the background when you have a lot quick notes playing for a long time, like for example in the second section of ONE with the strings and electric bass playing rhytmic short notes, having some sustained stuff in the background could've help to make the sound feel a bit more full.

Just a thing that I felt while listening, so just my subjective feeling ofc 😁

Good work!

That was a nice listen. You have really squeezed everything that you could out of those soundfonts - Especially with the trumpet in ONE, neat sound :)

One thing that bugs me however is the mix/ballance. Some things are louder than they should be,overshadowing others. Also, TWELVE is (at least to my ears) a fair bit louder than the others as a whole.

Good job overall tho!

This was lovely, could easily imagine the soundtrack playing in the background of a visual novel :)

This one is quite nice, but i'd have to say it is quite rough around the edges:

The soundfont's samples are good sometimes, but some samples feel off, disconnected

The rhythm and stucture feels "rigid",lack of tiny variatons and flourishes

But you did well, storytelling wise imo, good job!

Developer(+1)

I'll be using this, or part of this, for a game and see what kind of flourishes it would need
I agree with it, tho it can be distracting/doing a disservice to the game if it's too much

I'm not entirely sure what you mean with the samples being off, I got an idea, like, the changes between the ranges are off, perhaps

Yeah as with all art it is a balancing act, but its suprising how much you can get away withthat is both not noticeable as background but really add a nice touch in isolation imo

It seems you'll be continuing this after the jam, best wishes and i really hope it goes well for ya!

Developer

for sure, the ones posted aren't even loops but the potential for them to be is massive, so that's what they'll become

I like the vibe! It has a kind of city-like or noir feel across the tracks, which I think works great for the concept you have in mind. A nice mix too with some drumming vs piano and strings, so I feel the cohesion is there.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

That's good to hear, because this was hardly mixed at all due to time

Wasn't expecting that muted trumpet! Fun stuff!
