Beautiful art and great orchestra!

Your music will wow the audience right in a theatre story play, dynamically and classicalism in all sense.

I notice your story idea could complement & expanded from 12 Animal Zodiac, Journey To The West.

Yo Carrot this is a really great entry, everything feels well composed and orchestrated. I especially like how balanced the percussion elements are and how they come through well. Great string arrangements too, especially in that final track. Great stuff!

Those chords on the strings in your first track are *chef's kiss* Excellent battle theme in "Show of Strength." I can definitely hear the Joe Hisaishi influence in "The Forest's Denizens."

omg look at the owl's little hat, it's so cute! I assume the tragic part of "Tragic Victory" is the loss of said hat.

Solid OST, overall. Would have liked a little more story context, but otherwise very enjoyable!

The compositions by themself are quite nice and have a nice flow to them that feels more written so screen or cutsceenes that game OST. The more east asian inspired instruments were also a nice touch. Emotionally I feel somewhat reminded of the Ori games but with a more more japanes composision style.

However I feel the "post-polishing" needs some additional touch ups. The general mix isn't bad at all. But it feels at times a bit spiky in the 3k - 4Khz range. Also I feel some instruments tembre could also benefit from a little touch ups to let them shine more. Specially the lower instruments feel a bit subdued against the other instruments and could use a bit of boost to get their warmth more present.

Extremely impressive orchestral work, what a great album !

I don't know what needs to be said that wasn't said already about the greatness of the orchestration and the arrangements in the other comments, but the whole album is very cohesive with the quality of its production throughout : everything feels very melodic and emotive with great orchestral variety to back it up.

Like I said, greatness is plenty to be found among the track selection, however I must said I really enjoyed Our Parasitic History on the top of my mind : great melodic and soulful intro, very intense and impactful rise in intensity later and then many variations brought throughout to keep the music fresh and exciting to listen to.

Ah man, this is incredible! Certain parts remind me of Studio Ghibli stuff. I can totally imagine a great story unfolding.

I’ve noticed a trend in this jam where orchestral soundtracks have been absolutely incredible, and your submission is no exception. Your pieces are all brilliantly written and complement your game well. Not much else for me to add, this soundtrack just slaps. Awesome job!

Man you can't just open with Novel Territories making me all emotional and stuff come on that's not fair I've got a whole album to experience here. I just. No. Stop. It was only supposed to be the first song not all of them stop making me feel things so strongly >:[

Genuinely shaking my head and punching the air with how good these compositions are, like if any one of these songs were in a game I suspect they'd immediately be my favorite of the entire OST. Less a criticism and more something that stuck out a bit, the room the instruments are in sounds a bit thin or narrow I think? I would pay money to see this played live from an orchestra just for the full experience. 

What a beautiful set of pieces you have going on here. I loved The Forest's Denizens it felt like a ball dance and had a wonderful moving background. It felt like a masterclass in restraint. Not filling every nook with a sound. Wonderful set of pieces! I feel lucky once again at the absurd level of talent for writing here. Not even percussion in sight (Besides the xylo in the back of the room) and the absence doesnt feel lacking at all. Immaculate harmonic play and a good job distributing things around to all the various instruments. Everything feels intentional.

Ughhh I love the harmonies throughout, the Joe Hisaishi influence is showing, also kind of reminds me of World of Demons by Platinum Games (which has a soundtrack way better than it has any right to be go listen to it)

Anyways this is beautiful probably the best composition I've heard so far this jam, I dig this style so much. Personally I would've liked to hear more about more of the story of the game specific to the individual tracks but I do feel like the music does a good job at painting it's own picture. Incredible work!

Novel Territories: The pizzicato strings under the legato woodwinds sets the stage for a magical journey as I often associate this instrumentation with forest or woodsy themes. I like how you introduce the themes in the piano first and then build the orchestration around it afterward. 

Show of Strength: This piece really is quite impressive with a powerful melody, but even more awe-inspiring to me is the string ostinatos and runs in the background creating the accompaniment. This is a very memorable track - well done.

The Forest’s Denizens: I appreciate the use of lots of space between instruments in this piece which feels like the space between trees in a forest. Even a simple violin solo over bouncing pizzicato cello creates a full scene without feeling like it’s missing anything.

Our Parasitic History: This is an interesting militaristic track that adds so much to the story by providing backstory. I think the contrast of downbeat rhythms compared to some of the more syncopated themes in the other tracks help create the separation in chronology of this track from the others. I think it is really cool that you keep similar instrumentation, but focus on certain instruments differently to boost that contrast.

MANTIS: This piece flows very nicely from the preceding track and creates that classic orchestral urgency sound to really characterize a climactic encounter well. I like that you continue to stay consistent with emphasized use of woodwinds and strings, but also the added brass layer helps this feel epic (as it should). Impressive movie-score quality!

Tragic Victory: This is an interesting story element to color the victory as tragic (which is absolutely portrayed in the music well). I feel like the story leaves me with more questions than when I started listening and makes me want to hear more! In any case, this was a really well-made soundtrack that sounds like it should be featured in a real movie or game. Very nice work and thank you for sharing!

Every time I think I've enough I return to this soundtrack to listen one more time. I'm just sitting here shaking my head at how one can come up with such gorgoes sounds, amazing work!

The scoring is wonderful, really using the instruments to their strengths. Parts gave me real PSOne JRPG vibes. Show of Strength really feeling like some battle music for something like that. So much energy and so much fun musicality to latch onto on every track. Would be able to listen to them over and over.

Mild criticisms would be that the artificialness of the instruments sometimes spoils a bit of the overall feel of the music. The main issue there is usually the piano, I think. It doesn't sound very expressive. I get a sense that that is partly deliberate to evoke the more sample based soundtracks of that era, but I still think it occasionally does feel a bit too artificial.

It doesn't really matter though, as the quality of the composition comes through really well. All the melodies and progressions are really well done and often very beautiful. Has a very inspirational, intriguing and exciting feel throughout. I think there are parts that get across both the "summer" part and the "night" part of the theme. Excellent stuff!

What I really appreciate about your orchestral music is that it has a lot of energy and driving force which I much prefer.

Even your slower songs have good energy. they don't dawdle which keeps me engaged so much more than orchestral tracks obsessed with "sounding orchestral" I guess as a way to put it.

There are melodies and harmonies and countermelodies. It's rich and deep with lots of things to listen to with tons of variation.
