Description
It's got a little bit of the ol' cyber hacking mentality to it, and a narrative driven electronic drive. "Tonight or Never" is the title song to give that sense of urgency which carried into the "Night Hack" gameplay theme. "Closure" is supposed to be much more sentimental sounding and still give off a nostalgic summer 80s 90s game vibe.

Done on Protools

Game Premise:
The general premise of the "game" is there is a boat scheduled to be decommissioned and scrapped this summer night. By the time you find this out, you also learn that an important message left by your best friend whom has passed is locked in a computer specially designed by them. You have one night to hack into the computer, go through a series of puzzles designed by your friend in order to keep others out and find out their message.

The game itself would be a type of digital puzzle solving game.

Splendid soundtrack! Really enjoyed the punch of the lead synth in the second track. Great work!

Developer

Appreciate it, thank you

Lovely Synthwave stuff here!

Developer

Thanks Jon!

I always dig some synthwave vibes :D

But your work is much darker than normal synthwave, which goes very well with story you're trying to tell, with hacking and whatnot. Very nice choice.

The mix sounds a little bit bottom-heavy for my taste, but it might just be me :)

Developer

Thank ya kindly,

Hehe, you might be right though, I've definitely clipped it a few times before finding a spot that made the drums and bass happy, a lot of synthy dark leads can make that happen. ^_^

I reeeally liked the atmophere of this album wow. Makes me want to put this on while driving around the city at night :) The compositions feel unique and really fit the story I think, really well put together, great job!

Developer

That's very kind of you, thank you.  It's more fun to make something that takes you on a journey. All these soundtracks we got out there have been doing that pretty well :)

Great job! Your sound choices work really well together. I can easily imagine them merging seamlessly with the gameplay, painting a vivid picture of the game in my mind from the track alone.

Developer

Thank you, yeah sometimes it's really a thing of luck and time with the instruments.

This is a really nice album!

I can't really point out things I hope would be better, well done! I hope you the best in the album, rooting for ya to be at the top!

Developer

Well thank you kindly for listening! May all our songs be heard!

I think using the 1 summer night theme as a time limit is a good reliable way to make any narrative fit into the theme which is nice.

The tone of the music is unique and atmospherically works well with the story you've created. The vibes are strong enough that it would be understandable somewhat without story knowledge.

Developer

Thank you, yeah that was the idea, wanted to leave it up to interpretation.  I hope you can feel that whatever message was left to read in the ending was intended to be heartwarming and like a farewell.

could not access the website :(

How about the download option?  Is that working?

Good call putting this on your own website! The mix on every track is really great and the songs themselves are very melodic. Great submission!

Well thank you,

Yeah I wasn't feeling putting it out on another platform, also this technically counts as a game jam. Thank you again for the kind words.
