Description
Extraterrestrial Conflict is pretty basic in concept;
the "mothership" commands aliens to attack earth to seize its resources for themselves,
The military intercepts this and defends the earth,
following up with a counter-attack in order to destroy the mothership and save the planet.
(and maybe acquire some fancy resources as well)
The game I imagined in my head was very arcade-ish and quite retro, but i wasn't exactly feeling in the mood with chiptune music so I made whatever genre of music my soundtrack comes under.

The drum programming on this is insane! And the tuning at the beginning of the second song really added to the alien feel and gave the rest of the soundtrack an unsettling alien feel while not taking away from the fun! Great job, really fun OST, I'd love to play this as a hylics style game or a fun arcade shooter. Great work!
thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed it!!! :D
IT’S SO GOOD! Loved how it’s basically prog rock. Also insanely good drums/percussion. Got me bopping a lot. Amazing job!
Glad you enjoyed :D !!!
tysm for listening!
Very unique approach! The sound really captures the oddness of an alien or unknown creature, and the motion works wonderfully. Great mix too!
thanks a ton! :D
hell yeah i love how the soundtrack feels like an arcade alien showdown >:DD the odd tingly textures paired with rock/metal energy totally pull you into the battle and its freaking awesome. i loved it. what a submission this is
thank you so much! glad you enjoyed :D
So fun! Each track has a very distinct alien sound and it feels like each has it's own form of alien, feeling like as we are getting closer to the end we just end up finding weirder and more alien feeling things, which just felt great! I really love how you managed to pair those weird sounds so perfectly with some rock/metal elements so well! Your soundtrack reminded me a lot of Risk of Rain and the Golden Idol games!
Overall I really like all of them, but "Prepare to Engage" and "The Mothership" stood out to me the most, maybe because they both give off the feeling of retaliation, and feel like they are a continuation between themselves!
Great Job!
glad to hear you liked it! i also love risk of rain so maybe that shun through a bit who knows XD
tysm for listening!
"Whatever genre it sounds like" is also my preferred genre of choice lmao
There's some interesting things happening here. "Prepare to Engage" has some really wiggy and definitely... alien... sounds that do a good job of casting the setting you described. Solid work with the drums, and the whole soundtrack has tons of energy and dynamics to it. Great work!
as a side note, this is now the third submission I've seen where someone's idea of a typical summer night was an alien invasion. No judgment, I'm just wondering if I should be worried
nah don't worry, glorbians are harmless -- trust me, I know my own memories :)
It gave me a pretty great overview of a game! Neat storytelling
thanks for listening!
Great storytelling throughout! Everything felt really seamless and easy to listen to. Especially loved the drums in "Invasion."
good to hear you enjoyed it! :D
tysm for listening !!!
Loved the space vibes with this and Foreign Object and Prepare to Engage are my favorites. Cool soundtrack :)
tysm for enjoying!!! :)
The funkiness of the music feels very alien and disconcerting which is perfect! I think more connection to the theme in a way would be good, but the storytelling of the music itself was quite nice.
I definitely agree there about better connection between tracks -- good to keep in mind for the next jam :D
tysm for listening!!!
