i need a wider screen. based on other comments, i think this is a cool game

Developer

That is one problem I didn't know even existed until submissions closed. I am so sorry about this, but this game screen is exactly 1920 x 1080 resolution... I apologize that you are unable to try it out. Even if I won't progress with the game after this jam, this is one problem I will fix.

I love the concept and relation to the theme. However, even though the art is cute, I'm not sure that this style lends itself well to detailed foods. The chocolate and potato brown colours blend into the boxes so it's very hard to see. Also, the smaller artwork of the fruits can be quite confusing; the larger/more detailed versions you made for when the chef holds the food would work better. Other than that, great concept and great job! Would love to see this fleshed out.

Developer

I apologize for the game art. We were on a time crunch so we went for a simple enough approach. If I will expand on this game after the jam, I will definitely prioritize making the art more understandable. Tysm for your feedback:D

The core idea is super fun, nothing new, there are many 'menu-maker' games out there  , but the time rush is a good idea. Downside: I think you made the time crunch  TOO hard. Balanced out and  tweaked this could be a solid little pick-up game.

Developer

Tysm for the feedback, I greatly appreciate it!

A bit hard to get used to the gameplay loop, but the theming was excellent!

This is great! It took me a second to get the hang of it but I love all of the mechanics. Really fun and creative

Thank you for the comment!

This game really reminded me of Overcooked. I actually like the mechanics a lot. It has a good level of difficulty, I’d recommend playing it.

Developer

Thank you, Overcooked was an inspiration and I am so happy you have a positive opinion! :D

Not being American, I'm not sure what a Zucchini is, I thought it was an aubergine, long purple, chunky; when the first recipe was zucchini and pineapple, I put what I thought was needed in to the pot and only kept getting ash, trying other objects that were related to what I thought it could be + Pineapple also gave me ash.

The concept however is definitely an interesting take on the kitchen sim.

Thanks for the game.

Thanks for trying the game! The files could send you to a Google docs with explanations of different things! Zucchini are long green vegetables similar to cucumbers in appearance!

Tried that one as well, still ash, but thanks for the response.

I apologize for that. There are some (but hopefully few) unnoticed bugs. If I ever expand on this game, I will ensure to make ingredients more obvious, and to patch all of these small problems

Maybe reloading the game would help? Either going to main menu with escape, or just closing and reopening the game
