Description
The submission is a Creepypasta style horror game. The OST starts of normal, until an event happens that makes everything spooky. The OST is also split in half from normal style, to spooky style. (I hope this doesn't conflict with keeping a consistent style. For what it's worth, the style is consistent with the events in the story.)

I was going to write an actual Creepypasta to go along with this, but I felt like the writing fell short of what I wanted. :/
There is an actual story to go along with this though, so feel free to piece together the story in your head while you listen.

I used FL Studio for the OST, and a mix of Blender, Gimp, and Aseprite for the album art.

this is so good!!!! really really sucks i didn't rate it before the rating period was over

i love the melodies all over this soundtrack and i think you nailed that creepypasta vibe!!

also, i don't know if this is intentional but i really like how the names of the songs are named like how they would be inside of the game files!

I can tell how much effort you put into this sounding as creepy and unsettling as you wanted! I love the sound design and the inclusion of the little “sound effect” tracks. They sound great and really make the story flow well. Loved this one, good job!

This soundtrack reminded me a lot of a somewhat obscure PS2 game I played that kiiiind of used that concept: Ape Escape Pumped and Primed. The game was a lighthearted party game that eventually became dark and "currupted" after finishing the first cup. You did a really good job conveying that through your soundtrack

For the first half, my fav track was probably the main fishing theme, it really reminded me of those sega fishing game osts, and it felt really nostalgic to listen to. I also loved how the shop theme used the same melody as the tutorial, made me think that both areas of the game were managed by the same character

Something I liked a lot about the second half was the strange choirs that played through a lot of the track, that with the song sometimes tripping over itself actually made me feel like I was in hell haha

Fishing Hell is a really good track, the percussion used for it is really interesting, it reminded me of the purified zones from OFF (the original ost of course, I haven't listened to the new one lol) and I liked the leitmotif used there from the previous songs

I also enjoyed Death Shop, really cool bass and percussion work. It kinda sounded like a diss track instrumental lol

Overall a nice time and a really cool concept, second submission I give 5 stars in creativity for sure!

There's this one PS1 fishing game that I forgor the title which I used to play a lot back when I was still a snotty brat. And I remembered there was this level where the "boss" was this gargantuan dinosaur ancient fish and me as a child was scared as hell when I looked at it. That was the moment where I dropped the game because I was horrified beyond repair, and even when I came back playing the game again, I would NEVER touch that specific level. This OST somehow reminds me of that core memory of mine, so deeply thank you for that.

I was immediately intrigued by the super unique and striking cover art, but somehow wasn't expecting the soundtrack to sound exactly like that image? The storytelling is so good here, especially with the inclusion of the sound effects. You wouldn't happen to make games do you? Like I feel as if I'm playing this game right now listening to this but there is no game. This is awesome.

Thanks a ton!!! That's the experience that I was hoping it would give! :D Also, I do actually make games! (Although mostly privately.)

The art is super on point for the style and the story was easy to follow with just the music and titles alone.

Fun soundtrack, I like the chaos of title_hell leading into fishing_hell. Great work :)

First off, I love that art work! It's got me hooked already *pun intended* from the first two songs, i can invision them on a lo-poly game so love that. It's got me thinking of 00s/10s DS games.  I really like the leitmotifs in fishing day. that sound design in Rare is brilliant. Really impressed by this submission (Only downside is that now i wish that game existed)

These tracks reminds me of 2000's game music. Good sound design!

I hope that you will make some game with this soundtrack, or collaborate with someone, because the creepy atmosphere in this soundtrack is incredible!

Developer

Thanks!!! :D I might do something more with it at some point!

You NEED to make this an actual game!!! Put this AMAZING soundtrack and AMAZING idea to good use don't let it go to waste :P

I would totally 100% this game if it came out for real. The cover art looks fantastic and the soundtrack works perfectly with the cover art, great way to tell a comprehensive and cohesive story! In Fishing 2000 2, it could be nice to see a little bit less refinement in the soundtrack of the second half so its more similar to the first, but it was still a cool change of pace! Great work!

I love the tutorial motif and it's reuse in the shop, and the sound design for the rare catch effects is great. Death offer is a great tune. This is a very strong entry!
