Description
ambient
The tracks essence and wandering were originally played on an old Soviet Yunost -21 synthesizer. Then, in Ableton, I processed my improvisations. These tracks are needed to create an oppressive atmosphere in critical areas of the game, in front of bosses, and so on. The mystery of the third water track is compiled from various VST synthesizers and Kontakt libraries. There are basically different magnifiers created to fill in the daily actions in the game, the screensaver, the usual walk through the pause menu level, and so on. During its creation, field recordings with water were also used. I was inspired by old Soviet cartoons about space, such as the mystery of the 3rd planet.

you ve created such wonderful ambiences and textures
absolutely love it!
sovietwave. not a fan
This is so intriguing and liminal, great job translating that feeling into the music!!
Thanks for the review, I tried to show the horror feeling.
POV: you see the cover art and expect anything but creepy ambient :')
Not my cup of tea, but done right and kudos for taking one of the road less traveled
I like to do everything in contrast and surprise, so the cute cover has a creepy filling in the form of tracks))
"Essence" and "Wandering" are Dark Ambient done right.
"Wandering" has this little something that you can only hear in old giallo movies (Suspiria in mind), with these heavy saturated pads and almost dreamy/unseasy feel.
Never heard of the Yunost21 but recycling old hardware in modern compositions with modern tech is always a good idea.
Thanks for the kind feedback.
I love the vibes! Good work
They all felt very Metroid which is fitting for the space and different planets theming.
I do wish there was more connection to the theme of the jam though. Beyond just where we are told it takes place.
Thanks for the review, yes, I turned a little in the other direction, but my beach is in space and on another planet.
love how eerie and atmospheric it is -- two tracks that really set a vibe. awesome work, though i wish there was a story behind but regardless it's good.
Thanks for the review, I haven't worked out the history of the game, everyone will come up with it themselves, but I added a short description of the creation of tracks today.
Great soundtrack. Where this may shine over others in the jam is that this feels very native to an actual video game soundtrack and less of just standalone music/tracks apart from an actual game. Nice work!
Thank you very much, when I created these tracks, I thought specifically about the game and where in the game they can be used.
It's always fun hearing how people open their OSTs with different ambiance, Essence sets a very strong tone very quick and make me picture a beach with raging winds blowing the tides up high. The slow and subtle movement keeps it moving forward and evolving, which I like a lot!
The Mystery of the Third Water feels like it's a little closer and more grounded than the very ambient first song, which is a great way to continue the story I think. There's more melodic movement and textures and continues on the train of slowly evolving over time. I have no idea how much it was looping, or if it was looping, but it all felt familiar and completely new.
I like how resonant those low notes are in Wandering, it feels like something's gone very very wrong or you've discovered something that you really shouldn't have. Despite the dissonance it doesn't sound entirely minor or major and plays around with the mood of the chords to make something very emotionally chaotic while simultaneously feeling suspended in time. Super cool stuff, and great way to close off the tracks!
Thanks for such a detailed analysis of the tracks. I really liked it!
