Really cool pixel art on this game, I love the main character, the monsters and the vibe you've got going. I found it tough when the green eye monster is there with the lazer, he's tough! Maybe could have bombs or secondary attack to help kill his ass! thanks for sharing, cool work here!

I. Need. More. Coins. Lol.

I am a big fan of retro-styled games, and this one is not an exception. A bit hardcore with that melee damage from enemies 0_o, but I believe it was the same in the 90s.  Good job!

Cool concept. I think its a bit hard  maybe because of the attacking in move direction rather than mouse direction or attack range. with a bit of tweaking this is really fun.

I like the concept a lot. The controls are not conventional but that’s a plus in my eyes. It made me want to move strategically to attack. The difficulty is a bit too much as colliding with an enemy seems enough to one-shot you. With a bit of stat tweaking for the players and the enemies and a UI overhaul, this could be a pretty fun game. Nice work!!

This was quite tricky, I only got to Wave 4. The laser eyes in particular were very painful to deal with, and I had to spend the majority of the time dodging their lasers.

I do wish the attack range was longer (maybe that's an upgrade that shows up past a point I hadn't reached), as the small distance was difficult to work with against some enemies.

Cute little arcade game, liked the sprites!

Cool concept! The difficulty kept me from really getting into the flow.

YEA, I should have play tested it more. Thank you for the feedback!

Fun concept! I like the progression system and the way it incorporates the limitation. I agree with another comment saying the combat could use some tuning. Aiming in any direction is a good start. Also, make the first wave really easy for the player; it improve the sense of progression as the game goes on. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and for playing my game! I want to implement that aiming feature. I will definitely take more time tuning  the wave/enemy  progression to allow the player to get the full experience!

Good implementation of the theme -- I like that it doubles your current money, giving the player a meta risk strategy of not buying upgrades for a few rounds together up a greater total to double later.

On to the combat itself: I would have liked to be able to attack in the direction of my mouse, rather than in the direction the character is facing, since most of the gameplay involves strafing the enemies, going backwards. Which meant that I keep having to walk towards the enemies in order to hit them. And since, in the first (and second?) wave, the big guys kill me instantaneously, so it's very important to stay far away.

This basically led to a fairly tedious optimal strategy of walking in big circles and chipping away at their health over time. I think a longer attack range and mouse-direction attacks would make this feel a lot more manageable.

Also, the big guys maybe have a bit too much health? It feels like they take too long to take down; especially given that they're almost guaranteed to be killed last and have a very simple strategy, leaving the player with a fairly tedious job of chopping them down one inch at a time.

Thank you for taking the time to play my game. Yes I also would have liked the player to attack in the direction of the mouse. I soon realized that the game felt more like a kiting simulator. I will definitely look into how to implement player attacking in the direction of the mouse and some balancing on the enemies as well. And yea I should have definitely not made the sluggish guys one tap straight out of the jump haha.
