This whole soundtrack feels very quiet in a good way, there's a lot of silence and space in the atmosphere that feels intentional. It still manages to progress through a story well too, I can feel the tension in "Crossing the Water." While I do really like the ambience I also think it could use just a little more dynamics here and there, having some swells of intensity either with more instruments or tempo changes or some other thing to help keep each song's individual story moving just a little bit more might help with that. Then again! Could also just be a me thing, very relaxing submission, great work!

Thank you for listening and giving feedback! I wanted it to be pretty minimal but yeah I wish I could have developed some tracks a bit more

I like that the tracks became varied in styles at times. Kept me engaged when the dangerous section of Crossing The Waters came up.

The emotions on all tracks are really present ! The sound design, some tensions in sometimes make a good feel ! Good choice in instruments (My favorite is Strange Shores ! )

I once again salute your service!

I listened over the full track list and here is some of the items I came up with for feedback:

I really wish there were more instruments involved! I think you have an excellent basis for adding musical ideas into the existing ones here. Piano and Pads certainly make a good couple, but if there isnt many other instruments involved, you gotta make sure that your pads have interesting texture changes/evolutions or make sure the piano has interesting character. It sounds like a lot of thought went into the instrument choices here, but not necessarily into making a ton of changes to the instruments.

I think mid way through crossing the water when the strings came in was Wonderful. I was hoping for them to build up a bit further.

Overall, what you have here is a great platform for more complex ideas. I want to see you build a house on top of that platform.

Now that the feedback is done, I do want to say this entry is very pretty to listen to. It makes me wish I had another 10 songs from you here. I think they convey emotion well and I can feel your storytelling in the music (Be proud and lean into that aspect of your writing!) Your sound design/choice of instruments was great and you really made something worth investing time into.

I think you did a great job and I wouldnt be rating you highly if I didnt think so.

Great work and congratulations on completing this wonderful set of music!

Glad you liked it! I wish I had more time to develop things further, but in the end I’m still pretty happy with what I made, and I learned a lot while working on these tracks. Thank you very much for your feedback and constructive criticism.

Of course! You did really well here and any feedback was mostly related to additions, not things wrong with what you built. Thats an important distinction because that isnt the same issue most people I have seen have during the jam. Its much easier to add new spices and enhance a song than it is to tear it apart and fix it. So you did really really well her

I think the best part of this OST is this quiet tension that’s present in every track – probably because of the droning pads that give off this surreal vibe, it really makes you feel like you’re listening to a soundtrack and not just separate disconnected tracks.

Good job!

This project did a really good job of keeping me engaged but still having a cohesive sound profile. It's particularly impressive to me considering the minimalist nature of the project. "Crossing the Water" was my favorite, at the moment I found myself wondering about the choice to use a midi piano (or even if it was a choice) I was hit with those staccato strings and it all started to make sense. It's a cold, pensive, patient project and it fits the cursed island theme well. I think maybe the first track could use a little something to leave a stronger impression, to give the listener something to look forward to, and though I love the way you ended the last track, I think the body of the track sits a little bit aimless. That's just how I felt listening to them though, and I still think this was very successful.

Hi, sorry for the late reply! Thank you for listening and giving me such an extensive feedback. Glad you liked it and yeah. While I completely agree with what you said about the first track and even though what you said about the last track makes perfect sense, it was pretty much my purpose to make the latter feel somewhat "aimless" (or "hollow" as the title) but even though intentional that can indeed be considered as a weird/ambiguous choice

that was really beautiful, the storytelling was amazing in this one i could just imagine it in my head. Really felt like denial to me, and the inevitable realization of the truth, and the acceptance of that truth.

really love this one, all round an amazing submission! :)

A really beautiful piece to listen to. The work shows a lot of expression and emotion through it. I really enjoyed the last two pieces and their ambience.

The storytelling was clear and it felt like the picture provided. Great work :) I enjoyed a lot

Beautiful soundtrack, each track works for me. I like the tension of Strange Shores and the way you wrap it all up with The Hollow. Great work :)

One summer night - Sets the mood really nicely with the gentle piano and swells, seems like we shared the same instinct on this one!

Quiet village - Definitely gives the impression of an empty, mournful village. Not sure about the synth that comes in halfway through, seems to start and end abruptly, and clashes with the piano at times. Maybe if it wasn't so staccato; longer notes or a bit of reverb, or maybe a different sound?

Crossing the water - Feels like this should be a bit more action packed, there's hints here and there but it seems to be all tension, building up and no release.

Strange Shores - Establishes a cool idea with the drums and quiet synth melody, but doesn't seem to go anywhere for it's 2 minute run time.

The Hollow - Quite the melancholic end.

You did a great job at building tension but I would have loved for some of the tracks to go somewhere really exciting, with more instruments, some rhythmic ideas and just more action in general. Thanks for sharing, hope you had fun making the tracks and found any of my thoughts interesting/useful!

Thank you man, glad you took your time to write your thoughts. I tried to do too much with not enough time, I was even unsure wether to submit or not lol. The plucky synth is weird yeah, I tried to fix it, but time was running out, I liked the melody but not the sound (or I liked the sound but not the melody with other synths). Anyway it was pretty stressful but also a lot of fun, and I learned a lot along the way, so good experience for sure, maybe I will be able to do something more polished next year.
