Pre-made assets (Optional)
I used some fonts credited in the itch page and I had a photo in my computer that I used.

EDIT:
Also didn't realised to put here but saw in the other submissions. I've reused some code from past projects and tutorials.

Discord username (Optional)
_mama666

Explanation (Optional)
I put a bit of an explanation in the game page but just in case to be more direct:
The "game" explores the idea that ascension might not be about climbing or reaching a goal, but about letting go.
It’s a personal reflection on quitting, recursion, and what it means to leave.

Feel free to email if anything marcelo.terreiro@gmail.com
Is a more reliable way to get in touch than discord.

Thanks for the jam :)

EDIT:

Instructions:
Press A to move from title screen and texts.
To be able to move on to other stages is a combination of rotating the crank, spending a bit of time in the stage and pressing A or B when a glyph or glyphs are in the center, it might need more than one press.
If you feel stuck in a loop check the menu, it might have an option for you.

Very strange, unsettling and intriguing. I spent some time trying to understand the pattern and reach further than before while always doubting my understanding of the controls. Fantastic  mood!

Developer

Aahn thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the mood.

I relate with and really nice way of saying that about trying to understand, reach further and doubting yr understand of the controls.

Lots to like in this one! Loved the use of the crank to “navigate” each scene, the fading on the sun/moon scene, and much more. A lovely meditation on games, gaming, and seeking out.

I was trapped in the loop until I saw the comments here. It’s ok that u crashed my Playdate. 😊

Developer(+1)

hehe I'm glad you were okay with the crash XD
Thanks for your reflection, that's really cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And also nice to know the extra comments here made it more clear and help not be trapped forever in the loop. Defo something for me to keep in mind if I make something in these lines again of how to incorporate better in game.

I quite liked this, it was weird and mysterious, like a good art installation. Not sure I'd exactly call it "fun", but I found myself thinking about it after playing.

Developer

Awnn thanks for this comment! It's also really nice to know you found yrself thinking after playing it.

This game felt very abstract indeed.  Not just the visuals (which were quite nice) but the whole concept felt like a sort of meta game.  I saw "the only way out" but I am not sure if I won.

Developer

Ahhn thanks for the comment, I'm glad to hear! Your conclusion is amazing I love it!

Not sure if I missed the point of the game, but it was difficult for me to understand how to play it. I appreciate the creativity and the original game, but maybe needs more clear instructions :)

Developer

Oh thanks for the feedback, that makes sense. I will update here on the explanation for hopefully clearer instructions.
In the end the game don't really have a point to be missed hehe. I think the main thing was for me to do something to get out of my head.

But aye, thanks for the shout! I haven't had the chance yet, but excited to try out yr game!
