How does your game fit the Magical Girl Genre?
Three of the six total characters are Magical Girls, explicitely called like that during the story, and what their Magic is made of, their role and what they do with it is stated. The MC is one of those three.

Which theme(s) do you pick?
Phantom Pain (Main). Peace Walker, Children of Liberty (Secondary).

How does your game fit those theme(s)?
The Dreamnet is a place where people's mind can go when they sleep, and as within all dreams, there exist Nightmares. The Magical Girls fight and use their Magic with the utmost happiness and sense of duty against the Nightmares, but behind their strength they can feel an invisible wound. Something that from the beginning they feel that they lost: memories forgotten, dreams corrupted, a distorted sense of self... And yet, they can't pinpoint the exact reason behind their feelings. They also try to search for the reason behind the appearance of the "Voids" in their dreamworld: monsters from an unseen "wound" that's bleeding into their "reality". Peace walker - All Magical Girls work hard to keep the peace within the Dreamnet and do regular patrols around. Children of Liberty - One of the characters is the "child" of the Dreamnet, and her main wish is freedom from the system.

If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
No optional challenge followed.

Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Almost all assets and concepts were made specifically during the jam, and for the jam, with the exception of shaders and sound effects (SFX). Better detailed at the in-game credit section.

The artstyle is very rad in this one. Full score on presentation from me!

Thanks for submitting!

Hi! Thank you so much for your score, and thank you so much for playing our game!

We had a lot of fun while making our submission, and we appreciate it a lot you took time to play it. Thanks for organizing this jam <3

The presentation was really good! The blur effect got a little too strong during the battle section, though. Other than that, I think maybe you could've included a dialogue log. I accidentally skipped over a few parts of the text and had no way of reading it. One last thing, and this is just a personal preference for me, I wish the game didn't remove the ability to save your progress.

Other than that, it was really good! If you ever make the continuation, I'll definitely play it.

Hello! We are working on how to make the blur effect less strong, and we are also checking about options to include a dialogue log and the save feature for some parts that have it disabled.

Thank you so much for your feedback! It really helped to figure stuff that could be lacking, and we are working to make it better.

We are glad you enjoyed it, thanks again!

The setting and polish are impressive.

But my eyes are suffering from the blur effect. I can see how it is part of the game’s theme and aesthetic, but if there cannot be a game option to disable it, please exempt the game text from the effect. My eyes kept shifting trying to focus on the suddenly blurry words.

Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback! We are taking it into account and working on a new version so the blur is not as strong or making it so could be disabled
Thanks for playing our game and we are glad you enjoyed the setting!

Presentation values are amazing on this one! Looks like a full blown release! :D  I have to agree with CommunistElk though that I started to get impatient with the story. A cold open would really do this good to step up the mood and stakes (Like maybe have it start out with her in one of the dream games and getting attacked by the Nightmare (and losing) then waking up and the story follows as is (Except now giving the player the same motivation to get the magical girl powers to get back at the monster or some inciting incident!). Really good work though :)

Hello! We are really glad you liked it! And thank you so much for your feedback! As I said in my other reply, after upload we had actually been discussing the opening scene and where to place the battle, because we agreed that it needed something more haha. We made quite a bunch of changes and just released the full Act. 00 with all of them if you'd like to check it out as well!

Thank you again for your super kind words and checking our game! <3

The presentation of this game is incredible! I love the character design, the UI design, and I loved the music and UI sound FX. The premise is so goddamn cool and unique, too. I really love this so much. I just have one critique that may not actually be an issue if you do build it out into a more full experience.

I am a BIG visual novel fan, but I must say, that the game is VERY exposition heavy right off the bat without something to pull the player through, imo. I started getting pretty impatient between after Seraphine was introduce, but before your partner was introduced. I think if perhaps I knew there was a full finished game or a trailer that showed me something that got me intrigued before I went in, I would have had more patience. I think maybe introducing the Nightmare concept early - maybe with the MC as a lucid dreamer not able to fight back first - and then jump forward to your current opening then. That really is my only criticism so far. The only other thing is I would have loved an option to adjust the sound levels once I actually started as the Nightmare SFX were a little too loud for me.

I REALLY REALLY loved this and would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to play a full VN game around this. I would absolutely pay money for this if you guys build this out into a full game.

Hi!! Thank you so much for playing our game and leaving a review! We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed it so much and you found the premise interesting <3

And thank you for your feedback! We had actually been discussing changes for the complete Act. 00 after upload because we did realize that. To be honest, I only did a single pass on the script for Act.00 when I first wrote it because I focused more in the script that followed and then I let it slide until there was no time to make a second pass before implementation haha... So yes! I agree that it needed a better pull at the beginning and for the first battle to start earlier. We just released a new, complete version of Act. 00, so we'd be super happy if you could check it too!

Thank you so so much again for your kind comments! We definitely want to keep working on this and plan to eventually release the VN as a full game <3
