Backstory:
Hi! Back in April of this year, I entered Matt Aspland's 5 year anniversary game jam. It was a month long game jam and the theme was Evolution. It was my first jam ever and I wanted to really challenge myself. So I came up with a concept where the gameplay genre of the game would evolve as you progress into the game. (Imagine something like the game Nier Automata) As I was developing it, I made an accidental discovery... Somehow, as I was figuring out how to evolve one gameplay genre to another, I discovered a missing link in the evolution of video games. Something that I had never really seen done before.
Guided by my curiosity, I didn't stop at evolving gameplay genres. I set out to create a brand new genre and create a gameplay system that would fill in that missing gap. By the end of it, I ended up creating what just might be the first true Omni-Shooter. Something that's somewhere between a Twin-Stick Shooter and 3rd Person Shooter, but has the added benefit of intuitive 360° aiming on all axis. So I finished the game and submitted it to the jam...To my amazement, the game ended up sweeping the jam and winning 1st place in all categories!!!

The Game:
When a mysterious disturbance in the space-time continuum is detected, Paradox Patrol Officer Conway sets out to investigate. Aided by his AI companion Theo, he journeys to locate the source of the disturbance. As he nears the source, the dimensions of reality begin to shift and Conway must quickly adapt to survive. What begins as a routine mission quickly escalates into a galactic level threat.
Trailer:
Explore a beautiful but hostile planet, fight against powerful foes and uncover the mystery at the center of the paradox.

Winning the jam gave me encouragement that I was onto something special and I had so much fun creating it that I decided to pursue turning it into a full game. It has now been 5 months of development and I finally have reached the point where I can release the first demo of it. Along the way, I've posted regular devlogs of it's development on Youtube and the videos have performed very well. Here is the first devlog that explains how I discovered and created the concept for the game. It has gained 28k views! Showing that there's genuine interest and hunger for something new and exciting. Since then, I have posted several more binge-worthy devlogs on the channel.
I am very proud of what I've created because everything was coded from scratch. I can't wait to hear what people think of the game and the concept. As of today, the demo is now playable and can be played here. Paradox Patrol Demo
