I found this difficult to play maybe because I was on a laptop and clicking the left mouse button while jumping was way more awkward than it would be with a mouse., so I hope to come back and give it another go... Not sure if it needed to be a mouse click but maybe the idea would be for additional powerups in the future that would require more precise placement.
The graphics are nice, even if I wasn't the biggest fan of the CRT shader especially when trying to read the text. But all in all lots of promise
thx! your guess is right, in future powerups you can aim freely.
It's little short but really have fun.
The really "Bad" point is the text, it's almost not readable.
maybe you can make them bigger, or remove outline than add a background ( message box ) for them.
and there have some point not "Bad" but give me a strange feeling.
- basically, whole game under CRT Shader, but mouse cursor "float" on the screen. is that what you design or just because tech or time problem ?
- why potion ? I don't think "potion" relate to the title "nature", is there some reason under the story ?
- boss move very slippy, even boss stand on flat plane. if this is hint for how to beat the boss, than I suggest remove that and add more slope ( without spake ) on the map .
- is mouse movement need to use in fire and water form ? or some other feature in game ? it's not essential to use mouse in this demo version, wind can simple use movement + one more button to use the ability. move and use a button to save is better than click the flag to save.
and I found a double jump bug (maybe) on wind form,
I can jump again while jumping upward, this made me can jump over some point without wind ability.
Nice work! Obviously short but I know how that goes. I did not like using the mouse at all, probably either just an action button and it happens in the direction you’re facing, or two buttons for left/right and either works for non-directional abilities. I stomped some bugs with rock, but maybe I took damage too? Couldn’t tell. I’m also not exactly sure what damaged the boss, picking up potions or the spikes. The leaf periodically, and randomly afaik, went black and I’d day and it stayed black.
Also, I highly recommend either much larger text or doing it as a layer on top of the CRT. Obviously the latter is “less authentic” but soooooo much more readable and you don’t get they awful screen door look when you move.
Not a problem but I did find it weird that I had to click the flag to checkpoint vs it just happening when I passed (with me optionally jumping over it to avoid it for whatever reason).
Very cute art style, music and sound. I struggled with the mouse controls being on a laptop, but will give it another try once I'm at my desk. I'm not sure the CRT shader fits with the cutsie art. And at least as far as I played, I didn't see any influence from the clockwork theme, but maybe I'm missing something?
Pretty fun to blow the flys out of your way once you get the hang of it.
The hitboxes aren't very clear. The explanation text is almost unreadable at times, the powerups are almost transparent in some areas. Not very easy to tell what is interactable and not.
Great concept. The main problem is that the game is quite short, which doesn't allow it to reach its full potential. The only bug I encountered is that at the end, you can accidentally miss one rock, which can completely block you from collecting the scroll
Good job, I have nothing much to say, the mechanics are quite interesting, but the game is very basic, Need to cook more
