it have a fun concept and expand the possibility of metroidvania in my head.
but the control is a bit annoying, the game is little short, plus it more feel like a physics simulation platformer than metroidvania.
I need jump to change direct before using boost ability, it make me feel wrong, I thought I can change direction by A or D, but not.
I have success to do the vertical platform jump, but It weird, sometime I just got stack at mid platform and need go back to checkpoint by pressing R.
other jump also lay on heavy physics simulation ( or fake physics with that taste, IDK ), so it make me feel like I'm playing physics simulation game than playing metroidvania, at least this is not what i grab whats metroidvania is.
To be clear, I think this game have a fun concept and have little fun with that.
the concept mix vehicle with metroidvania have potential, but need more work on.
not saying duration of game, it need some change to level design and character control.
something like the boost climb up sector, but need a little wider plain area for acceleration.
current width is slightly stressful.
Your critique is fair and I appreciate the detailed response! Many good points!
I originally made this because I wanted to test out the physics objects in Godot. The Metroidvania idea came afterwards.
so annoying.... and yet, I felt compelled to keep playing till the end even after what felt like 100 attempts to get up those darn u bend thingies ;) so it must be doing something right,
Nice (if very frustrating) Entry!
Thanks for playing!
Most people complain about the platforming section, I'm glad you made it past that part.
I hope you figured out the trick for the u-bends: get a bit of distance to build up speed, hold A or D, spam Space, press W when near the top of the bend.
Best rage game of 2025
I didn't plan to make a rage game, but maybe you are on to something 🤔
A very unique and quite polished concept. I've never heard of a Metroidvania game about tractors before. The controls take some getting used to, but after a few failed jumps, each subsequent one becomes easier. Overall, a solid entry.
Thank you!
In all my weeks developing small games for gamejams, this is the very first time someone called my game polished!
It's technically a metroidvania, with its utility-based progression. The platforming to get the boost was hilarious once I got the hang of it (boing boing boing boing). I'd like to see more as the premise is very unique to this genre (vehicle-based metroidvanias aren't exactly growing in trees :) )
Thanks for playing :)
I didn't know about this gamejam until about a week or two ago. So I had made this vehicle made from a different gamejam that ran concurrently. It was a fun challenge to extract the different abilities and create this short adventure level about collecting abilities :)
Glad you like the platforming challenge, most people complain it's too difficult
The concept is fun, Good Job. but the game needs more work.
The platform section to get the boost was not fun at all.
I’m of two minds, getting boost was definitely not fun, I’m thankful for the checkpoint but it felt so random but I love this absurdity of this. I would have liked more of a world to explore, and make it easier to turn around since you boost tractor-forward not the direction you move. I don’t know what a full world looks like this but I really want to know!
Thanks for playing and the feedback.
I think I'm getting dev blindness. It's hard to predict how difficult the platforming will be for new players.
