This is the prettiest game I've played this jam! The controls work fantastic and it's hard as nails! There were some small bugs with the tongue and a bit of inconsitency with the trajectory but overall really polished. I hope you get to work a bit more on this after the jam. Super well done!
Love the art! It’s a very coherent look and still legible with a lot going on. Control with the crank is very responsive and feels very cool when you get a streak going. Nice touch with slowing down time, which makes it more accessible to me, a person who is pretty bad at twitch gaming.
I only made it up to the rockets. Guess I’ll have to find time to git gud if I want to see more. :}
Congrats!
This is fun and you got me with a cute frog for sure! I really enjoyed the set up and the after-life frogger ref, that defo made me excited to ascend even more. The sfx in the beggining made me wish for a silly intro scene to go with it that'd show the frog trying to cross the road and getting hit.
I love the usage of the crank for aiming the next grab. It's a perfect example of why the crank is so nice to have on the Playdate. The mid-air aiming slowdown is a wonderful touch and really enables the multi-mid-air sequences.
It's still challenging on device! lol I feel like much of the difficulty comes from ensuring you're well-postitioned on the platform you're jumping from, as re-positioning appears all but impossible with the time you have. Might also be nice to quickly extend the tongue to its max length and having it snap to objects - it seems like occasionally it won't attach to platforms it's touching.
Decent take on the doodle jump category of games, and it looks nice!
What a nice looking, polished game! Simple to grasp, although I'm gonna have to try harder once I'm on my actual device, with the simulator it's pretty challenging :)
Great game, great art and design, well balanced mechanics, congratulations to you guys!
