I really like that it felt like a dramatic final chapter. I think mixing 2D sprites with a 2D environment was cool. And I also really liked Juthabel. But I think some more audio feedback from casting the spells and from taking hits would've been nice, though.

I've just finished, and I must admit that the story got to me.
I felt like I just entered the final arc of a great story that I would love to see.
The tragedy of the characters and the situation seemed so hopeless that I was truly worried for their fate.

This felt like a true Magical Girl Story. If there are plans to develop this story further, please let me know, since I was truly invested.

And yes, there are some notes that I have about the project:

  • The gameplay was fun and engaging, although I think it needed a little bit more feedback when doing an action.
Making a sound when casting a spell or when hitting an enemy would be nice.
  • There are two spells, but I didn't know where to use the vertical one. That could be due to time constraints, so it's not a big deal.
  • The art and character designs are so cute, and I really was expecting to see it a little closer.
  • And finally, when pausing during a dialogue, the game just turned unresponsive. I didn't notice it until I played twice because I had so much fun haha.

And my final thoughts are that:
Making a 3D game in such a short time it's really time-consuming and ambitious, but I can say that you have a great result here. Great job ^^

Thanks for the feedback!

We're very glad to hear that you enjoyed the narrative.

Yeah, SFX would have been next on the list if we had had a little more time, but alas.
As for the vertical spell, it's pretty useful in close combat if you're swarmed by many enemies, as the projectiles will start to home in on enemies if you're close enough.

This is maybe the most magical girl media I have seen.

Story spoilers World-ending existential angst completely overturned by indomitable, (essentially-)baseless positivity (they didn't know it would work until it did).
The genre distilled into its essence. It was a joy to play the story.

The MP replenishment mechanic was innovative. Made the task an active player action rather than the typical passive interruption of waiting for it to replenish itself.

Bugs: On one game, after the first flashback scene, the classroom background remained and I could not play further. On a different play, all controls became unresponsive after unpausing. I had to restart in both instances. Finished the game with no other issues.

I like the art style! I think the game needed some more work on the combat though!

Really nice mix of cool effects and gameplay that made me kept trying different things; also the story kicks off with a bang and kept me hooked. Overall very fun!
