Game Description
You're a small child / business mogul seeking to expand her business of collecting leaves!

How does your game tie into the theme?
We wanted the protagonist to be able to expand her business by travelling to new locations, but we ran a bit short on time on that front :(

I clicked on this because the aesthetic looked Japanese, but I thought the character looked like obachan (granny), then I read the description and it's a child. Ok!

Tech issue : Like bloopi, I have problems playing this on my laptop. It has a 3K display, the ROG equivalent of a Mac Retina, it made the layout wonky. If I play the game on a monitor it works fine, however.

Fun stretchy hand mechanic. Funky beat. Fun.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah, I think I know how to approach window sizing for the next jam, thank you for the feedback, important to remind myself of that!

Not sure if its due to the laptop I have or browser acting weird, but I found the game's window size made it difficult to play on browser as it was bigger than my screen allowed. I was still able to play but couldn't see the bottom and right sides of the game unfortunately. For actual gameplay I enjoyed the stretchy arms and trying to use the sprite to keep some leaves from falling on the ground so i'd have more time to click them (i noticed some leaves will stay in the air if they collide with the kids head). Cool game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And yeah, window sizing is something I don't quite fully understand yet when it comes to itch.io submissions, I'll play closer attention to that in the next jam. I've had another report of the inverse issue, in which the game was hard to play due to a high resolution screen. Thank you for the feedback!

The core gameplay of trying to click on as many leaves as possible before they touch the ground is simple yet fun! I'm not sure what the point of moving or jumping with the player character, though, but it's fun to do so nonetheless 😄 Great work!

Developer

Totally right, there should be an incentive to movement, otherwise it's an hindrance :( Great feedback, thank you!

This is a fun and snappy little arcade game with a strong sense of style. The stretchy arm mechanic made me laugh and adds just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Visually it’s lovely too with a soft painterly art style and a warm autumn palette that really sells the setting. The menus are clean and readable though the buttons could use a bit more personality to match the charming in-game visuals.

The attention to sound stood out right away. The main track especially has a nice groove that drives the pace without getting tiring and matches the energy of the gameplay perfectly. As someone who spent quite a while tuning combo sounds in my own project, (harmonically, and rhythmically!) I can really appreciate how tight and vibe-consistent everything felt here.

Aw man, thank you for the great feedback, really appreciate it! (and your game is awesome btw :D )(

The game was really fun, well done on the idea! One thing I'd adjust is have it so that the hand picks up leaves on its way to the mouse, so that you don't have to guess specifically where the leaf hitbox will be. Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

Interesting, that's good feedback. I agree that it feels a bit "floaty", you don't have a clear sense of whether it will work or not. I thought I made that logic simple enough, but when playtesting those occasional misses made it a bit less clear. Thank you for the kind words!

Loved the music, and I'd give anything for that level of arm flexibility. 10/10 touching grass simulator. A great example of a simple concept done well too.

Developer

Thank you! We had to simplify aggressively because our first two ideas were had major issues, I'm glad you liked it!

The music during the was super catchy & groovy, reminded  me of Persona music .

Gameplay was simpole but fun especially with the stretchy arm animation!

That menu music wasn't it though!

Great Job :)

Thank you! We had to pivot 3 times during this jam because we weren't thinking of a simple enough concept we could do well, so I'm glad it turned out okay :D

Appreciate the comment on the music, the almighty Incompetech strikes again !

I really enjoyed the art and the story had a good tone to set up the game. The music felt like a nice match for the frantic leaf collecting. I didnt realize the ground leaves didnt count until i finished my first round with a score of 5 haha. I also enjoyed the stretchy arm, but maybe limiting how far it could reach would give you a reason to run and jump around vs standing still and just clicking. Adding a theme (even a simple one) to the buttons could elevate them to match the rest of the art. It would be nice to see the previous highscore too.

Developer

Thank you, that's fantastic feedback. I particularly love the limiting of the arm, because at the moment, there really isn't much incentive to actually move around, it's actively detrimental to the score. I originally wanted to make her grab leaves with her mouth so you could be multi-tasking, but I kinda forgot about that part in the end :/

Thank you for the good critique, really appreciate it!

Vibes are excellent - love the art! Would have loved to be able to become a leafy capitalist

Developer

Aw man, thank you! Now that I think more on it I think the music choice clashes a bit with the autumn cozy vibe, but I'm glad you liked it! Also, I've just played your game and I'll be writing a review on your page :)
