Very nice graphics and concept! Having to replay the cutscene of the start after dying is annoying, but is not something that makes the game worse. Pretty good!
Nice! Great graphics and gameplay, the mechanics work pretty nice. I feel like the trees don't drop any items in the later areas, so I had to backtrack everytime. Is that intended? Otherwise the game felt pretty round and polished, you've also got a nice story in there. Good job!
Thank you for playing and for your kind feedback! There were bugs with trees, yes. They are supposed to provide fruits in each cleaned region; if not, then you’ve encountered an issue.
The gameplay does require some backtracking anyway, so the mechanic is far from perfect. We were concentrated on the visuals and the ragdoll, so not much time was left for the rest.
Really nice art! At first I was like "hah I dont even need items Im so good at this" then I died and was humbled, I played properly the second time thru. Nicely done!
This was a really sweet game. It’s gorgeous, and I think the art and audio fit really well together. I liked the way the items helped me cleanse the trees better, though I wish I could get some info somewhere about their differences and what they would do if I could consume them. The tutorial popups were also very fast and I think I missed some details on what would damage me or not.
Good job!
Thank you for playing! We very much appreciate your feedback.
I think all the elements blend together very good, good job.
I like the music and sounds and I think it really suits the art and the concept of the game.
But I have to say, I didn't really understand what's the use of stamina more than just "going faster", maybe it could affect on the minigame?? I dont know xD
Gorgeous game, love the art direction this took!
I like the ideas here, especially combining side-scroller elements with exploration and collection. I had trouble understanding how all the elements of the game fit together (stamina, backtracking, etc.), it wasn't until my third attempt that it really clicked. The cloud hitboxes are a bit unclear as well. The audio is really on point and nicely done, and the shaders/effects combined with the flat art style work really well together.
Thank you for playing! I’m glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed the game eventually. I agree that in its current state, the gameplay is not that prominent and needs improvement.
Basically, the energy (or QI as we call it internally) is supposed to be your stamina, mana and shield from the damage at the same time. However, we didn’t have time to add enemies and combat, so it only works as a stamina/shield at the moment.
We tried two different approaches to the hitboxes of the clouds. At first, we made the hitbox equal to the whole cloud as it is visible on the screen, but then it looked strange when a character, clearly standing before a tree, was hit by a cloud that was passing far behind the same tree. So we decided to make the hitbox a rect below the cloud’s base. As if they were almost flat 3D objects. So now the cloud only hits the player when their base positions +- collide. Ie, if a character visually steps into the base of the cloud. It works a bit better, but maybe not ideal.
Visually nice, liked the music, but the game was a bit too repetitive for me, the QTE mechanic by itself wasn't enough for me.
Thank you for giving it a try! We would love to have enemies and fighting, but there was not enough time for it.
