This was such a cosy and satisfying little game! The simple act of sweeping up leaves turns into something strangely addictive, and it ties into the Expansion theme in a playful way as your pile grows bigger and bigger. There is something very rewarding about seeing the once scattered lawn turn into a neat towering heap, almost like tidying up your own space.
The pixel art works really well here, with the colourful leaves popping against the green grass. The oversized rake sprite is a fun design choice that gives the game its personality straight away. The UI is clear and minimal, letting you focus on the leaf raking without distractions, and the upgrade screen is easy to read and fits neatly into the flow of play.
I never knew I had the hidden urge to collect thousands of leaves with a comically large rake
Nice!
this was really a nice surprise.
I felt a bit anxious at first cos I couldn't get my technique right, but then I learnt in a very organic way, just as you would with real leaves and a new rake. really good entry, I wouldn't even need the power ups to be honest, so it is a really ncie touch that you included ir.
I think you could even make a "campaing mode" out of this, like starting off a small garden of somebody who hires you, adn then you're getting more famous and get bigger contracts, and getting employees and stuff like this, I think its a very good idea that could get much bigger, congratulations for that, because I think it's not easy to set up "something that makes sense so you could do a full game of it".
good one!
Thanks so much, that's really great to hear! :)
I really loved this! The feeling of starting out with it a bit frustrating then getting more and more powerful, plus the satisfaction of tidying up the leaves is a very addictive combo. You could def build this out more into some kind of idle-adjacent game (thinking like digseum, gnorp apologue, or tower wizard). I think my only gripes are that I wish there were better SFX since I heard the raking sound a lot of times as I played, and also I think I would prefer the rake rotated around the player origin point instead of switching sides. Really nice work!
Thank you for the feedback!
I liked this, very relaxing. Felt a lot like PowerWash Simulator. The art style was really nice; I think the only thing I wanted was a satisfying sound when I collected a leaf / leaves.
This would be great for stress relief, I could genuinely sit and play this for a while. My only issue is that I had some lag start to build as the leaf pile got bigger, but there were a ton of particles on the screen and it might just be my computer struggling to keep up. I had a fun time regardless, so good job!
Definitely not just your computer! I tried to work on some performance optimizations during the jam, but there's more that could be done for sure. I'd like to update post-jam to truly enable the endless mode experience :)
It was fun, the simple mechanics of raking leaves turned out to be more interesting than I initially thought. The monotony of the scenery was disappointing.
Leaf blower update when
A nice relaxing game makes a good change of pace, great job! :)
I started with a weird feeling thinking I had to rake the whole thing with my small rake, but then I checked the itch page and realised I could upgrade my things with space. At this point the game became quite fun!
I like the graphics and SFX but the musics gets quite out of tone when you get that big ass rake and such a goofy move speed ^^'
Nice entry!
Thanks for sticking with it and glad you had fun! I definitely need to get better at adding a tutorial or how to play screen instead of relying on the itch page for these jam games 😅
Very calming and cozy game! I got massive leaf pile :))
Very fun and satisfying game!
Big rake, very fun.
Hate raking leaves in release life, spends 10 minutes raking pixel leaves. Pretty fun!
Simple, but fun gameplay loop. Very polished!
