The spritework is very good. Especially for the MG, it communicates a lot of personality.
Small nitpick, the sound effect for gathering spirit flames has a pop (from starting/ending too abruptly for the AudioStreamPlayer I think). It’s the most frequent sound effect in the game, so it becomes extra noticeable.
Regarding the controls, they were intuitive (pc player) except for the attack buttons. They make sense, but like the other player mentioned, I just kept forgetting them. If we could reference them anywhere (e.g. pause menu), that would be fix enough.
(these bullet points are mostly echoing other comments, I wrote it before I read them)
Thanks for the feedback! I hope to to be able to fix these bugs next time I make something. I'll keep a setting menu in mind for cases such as this where the controls can be reminded.
I actually really enjoyed this once I understood what was going on; the game just kind of throws you in and the transformation and ghost grabbing thing was a bit confusing at first but once I got it I had a lot of fun switching back & forth and managing resources/moving in the real world to conserve meter etc.
I genuinely love the main character in this; the animation of her doing the weird goblin squid walk & doing the headbobbing/hair rocking thing is genuinely mental just in terms of how much heart and soul it imbues in her, love the contrast too it helps elevate each phase of her really well
I think a lot of the gameplay ideas were quite solid & you can clearly create great art and characters; obviously the time scale and your experience had you struggling but I think there's a real diamond in the rough with this!
Now create more please 😈
Thank you so much! Honestly I had a ton of fun with the project and had wayyyy too much ambition lol. I had orignally planned on doing more but had to cut it short due to time(and inexperience), but my favorite parts were creating the vibe and sprites. The CODING tho, was an absolute nightmare XD. Hopefully with time I'll get better at it.
Some cool character art in this game! I like the character's tired pose in the sections between waves, and the ghosts are cute! I did have an issue where when I transformed the first time i died immediately; I think maybe the game spawned me on top of a ghost? Either way, it's a fun little game
Thank you! I did have it planned so that the character would push the ghosts away when teleporting, but ran out of time lol.
Some major lag when I first transformed, wish the transformation could be a LOT longer.
Noted, there were plans for increasing the transformation timer via upgrade. But I just ran outta time
As said with others having longer in the magical girl phase would be better! Just felt dragged back to reality too quick. The art is really nice though and the game plays well when in the combat sections!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback, I'll keep that in mind.

Notes:
Thank you!(Yeah the character was very much DanDanDan based, I love Okarun's design). Thanks for the advice! Honestly I also didn't like the controls either, but I'm a console gamer so I just assumed it was me not being accustomed to it.
The game is a kind of a buggy mess. Doing this all on my own was a pain lol. Just don't spam the transform button and you should be mostly good.
