Simple and nice. Did enjoy the concept got very lucky and missed almost all the traps and killed the boss. Liked the concept wish it had more to it.

it's like mario party, but every time you stop you lose 3HP! seriously: I played this a few times and pretty much landed on every single trap every time. I got to the boss room once, but after being instantly annihilated, I decided I'd had my fill.

like the idea, but probably needed a few extra features and a longer board to keep me engaged.
nice work

An interesting experiment and a novel mechanic that heavily leans into the theme. I do wish there was more agency given to the player, but the game was still able to be beaten in the first attempt.

That was neat! That art is charming, the music is spooky, and the mechanics are competently implemented. A bit slow, but manageable. Good work! Congratulations on the submission!

oo bad it’s so short. It feels like a relaxing solo board game. If you could collect some power-ups to shift luck more to your side or add a bit more strategy, it would be perfect. Please keep working on it!

Cute little board-game experience! I have some issues with the game design (how most of the game is controlled by randomness) but the art and audio are both nice, and the issues are probably fairly simple to fix!

The amount of RNG removed most meaningful choices. The main choice appears to be between rolling for movement and rolling for stats, but both can lead to lost HP and this choice disappears during the boss. Unless I missed important info about the system? Oh well!

I'd recommend letting players input when the die is on their desired number, like lining up slots in a slot machine. Even if there's still chance behind-the-scenes, the input would at least add an illusion of control. That's all the game really needs to feel good tbh!!

it’s short and sweet but so polished, I played through it a few times. Won more often than I died, but just barely. great art and music. Although a little more detail on the player sprite might help, but the boss character was great. I also liked the amount of detail you got on the dice sprites. It’s sets up such a cool premise for a longer game, I see the potential here, I would definitely play a version of this with a bunch of these caves.

This is a nice, small game! It feels like a digitized board game and is also very polished. Because of the board game feeling, I actually didn’t mind that it was mostly RNG. I had a nice experience with it :)

The presentation here is really cool, like a little dungeon board game.

I do wish there was more to the gameplay, since your success or failure is almost entirely up to RNG; the only thing you can control is whether or not you roll your skill die, and even then there's not much of a reason not to.

Thank you so much for trying my game!!🙏

I guess I was too focused on the "unlucky" aspect of the jam. I had more ideas in regards to the gameplay but I knew I didn't have enough time to polish and implement everything.  After a lot of testing I found some strategies in regards to whether you should roll or not the skill die.

One thing that could be interesting is if different spaces have different skill dice. That way you're balancing the quality of the die in your space vs how many opportunities you'll have left before reaching the boss. In any case, it'd be a cool one to see more developments on.

Pretty cool! I think the dice roll is too long and should be an influenceable mechanic by the player but still a cool idea!

The dice roll was indeed too long and it's my fault for not understanding some of the engine's limitations. Thank you so much for trying our game!!🙏

Feels like a classic board game where being unlucky loses you the game. It wasn't very clear that I could only roll for stats after rolling to move and not landing on a skull. It was interesting to figure out the mechanics tho, added to the mystery! Congrats on a fun entry!

Honestly I didn't even think about creating a proper explanation or "tutorial" level until I played some of the other games.

Thank you so much trying our game!!!

Polished to perfection! I love that jam games can feel so complete; it doesn’t just feel like a concept. It feels like a finished game that's expandable and full of potential. Congratulations

I like the concept of building up your stats via random events, but the fact that (so far as I could tell), everything was determined by luck made the gameplay quite frustrating unfortunately. You can't really do anything but roll and hope you get a good run. I think if you fleshed out the game more with branching paths, different dice, etc (basically more player choice), and sped the rolls up, you would have a really enjoyable game.

Very cool that you made an actual Gameboy ROM for this.

Cool vibe here! It felt a little bad randomly hitting traps with no recourse but the music, sound, visuals, and boss were cool!

Interesting concept, having separate dice for different kinds of actions. I'd love to see this fleshed out further.
Good stuff!
