I think it's cute. Though, I felt a very real lack of feedback in the game. I didn't know when the game started whether the store was open or not, then when I opened and I took a ticket, I didn't know which piece corresponded to which description, then I didn't know what to do with the pieces until after I read your description below the game, and it took me until just now typing this on the submission page to look at the screenshot to see I should be able to put the label on the box. I made a robot that I wasn't sure if it was right or not, it got all boxed up, then I left the workbench, and when I went back into the workbench interface the box was missing, so I had to guess whether it was intended design or if the box was just gone. If I got into the flow of it and learned what everything meant, I would probably have a better time with the game, as it's kind of in the style of the Papa's Pizzeria games as far as I can tell, and I like the idea of putting the toys together (It also seems to me this could be your interpretation of the "unfinished projects" part of the theme and I like your creative take), but it really just wasn't clicking for me at first.

After going back in and trying it again, it was fun once I knew everything, and like I've read in the other comments you already know about the parts going missing after finishing a robot or two, but the idea is there. Props to you for making things work enough to convey your idea - I imagine it's tough to code it to recognize when the robot arm is attached to the body, or when the body part is in the bin, etc.

Great feedback! Yes, there are lots of things that we needed to do to make this more intuitive or at least give the player a better sense of what all they are supposed to do. We will try and address that when we get a patch in for the game. Also the detection for the toy joints are all off, that's what I get for trying to add in all the actual toy assets in the last half hour and forgetting to adjust a couple of things. We can't wait to get fixes in and all the features we wanted! Thanks for playing!

I had a little bit of trouble figuring out how to ship things at first but I see the vision! I'm sure there are a lot of cool ideas cooking underneath for this game! The art style is V cute!
I ran out of parts and I wasn't sure how to get them back. My unsolicited desire: I wanted to smash the table and have all the parts fly up from the bins and then just swipe with my mouse to "collect" as much as I could before they all fall back and then have them sprawled out so I can easily pick and choose what I want! Maybe that doesn't fit the vibes though

Developer

Oooh, very interesting suggestion, we'll have to consider that! And thanks so much for your feedback, can't wait to get a patch in and make it the game we wanted!

Could do with a quick in-game tutorial. I found the UI a little confusing and difficult to grapple with, but despite that I really enjoyed the game. I loved the day transitions outside the window, really cool. Very happy to play it again if you do patch it after the jam is over :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and we're glad you enjoyed the game! We have lots we wanna do to improve the game and a tutorial is one of them. So look out for a patch when the jam is over, we'd love to have you play it again for more feedback!

Really cool implementation of UI.

The place feels really good

There are a lot of improvements possible in the UI but it is really great and mostly intuitive already. I did not need much reading to figure it out.

The final boxing I did once but after that the parts in the boxes went missing not sure if bug or skill issue.

Congrats on releasing a cool game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Right there with you on your criticism, there are a million bugs that need to be addressed and features that need finishing. Look out for a future update!

I like the idea. Very cute and the style is fun. I think there's definitely some aspects that can be adjusted, sorting layers of objects, making sure things respawn and UI ordering but I think it's a good proof of concept. Good job!

Developer

Great feedback! We definitely have fixes and features we'll be working on this month for when the jam ends, we can't wait to get a patch in

I respect the ambition! The first time I played, I didn't realize I needed to make a full robot (not just the parts that the customer requested) which confused me for a long time. I ran into a glitch where all of the bins went empty, and wouldn't refill no matter what I did, so I couldn't do anything after my first package. Cute game, could use some polish and more clear instructions.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Boy oh boy did I think I had plenty of time to create a tutorial, fix all the bugs, and implement all of the features we wanted for the jam. Time goes by fast! But I'm glad you thought it was cute, our artist did an amazing job!

It has really great fresh ideas on an old a proven game genre but it could use clearer instruction and a tiny bit of UX changes post-jam.
I would have placed the boxes for parts directly near the assembly table and I would have had parts less on top of each other perhaps. Also, I would give more instantaneous feedback if you did good/bad and why. It has a lot of potential. I'm glad I got to playtest it! Good work.

Developer

Thanks for the positive feedback! We're right there with you on all your criticism. We can't wait to get a patch in for the game after the rating period is done!

You can probably upload to another URL and let people help play test your work! The doll store concept is awesome and I would love to see it grow further!
