It’s so cool how this game emulates neurodivergent thinking. Gameplay is creative and addicting - I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get through a lot of the levels. There are some glitches where some words are getting grayed out when they’re needed for solving the puzzle, but it’s understandable with how complex I imagine it is to code all these word combinations/hints. I overall enjoyed the experience of playing!
Oh, thanks for letting me know. I found several issues and thought I had tracked them all down, but I must have overlooked something. Really appreciate the feedback and thoughtful words.
I've played Doodle God, and it's similar, but what I like about your take on it is the objective of actually getting through themed levels by trying to form the necessary words. I'm not good at it, and I was using so much time slamming random things together through hint after hint, but getting the solution does feel good, and your hints are abundant, and I appreciate that. Cool game!
Thanks! Part of our goal was to balance the "unexpected connections" theme with the game's difficulty. Given more time, I think it could work really well. One of the other posters pointed out that creating alternative recipes for each key element would help a lot... we did a bit of that, but I think even more would have gone a long way to make the difficulty closer to the intended feeling.
Great idea for a game! I like that there was a hint system. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing :)
Really cool game! The sound effects do a lot! It was really fun discovering things! I got ahead of myself and clicked freeplay halfway through and got overwhelmed when I had all these choices to choose from haha. I really enjoyed how the hints were made and how things were removed if they weren't needed. It never felt like I was ever really stuck since I kept discovering new combinations.
I did end up brute forcing and spamming things together for fun! Then my hands got tired from swiping right and left haha
Really well done overall!
Thanks! It's awesome to read about your experience with the game, very fulfilling as a creator =)
Really fun and addictive, love the combos and the vibe, even if some combos felt a bit random I still had a great time unlocking stuff
Thanks! We optimized around quick combining, but thinking about the randomness, I'm imagining an opt-in "cutscene" that gives a bit more flavor and juice for combining. Maybe for the sequel =D
This was fun to playtest and to my joyful surprise my progress was still there! Really nice work! The stories I unlocked were very thought provoking and fun to find.
Very fun and addicting game! ;D
The recipes are awesome and the gameplay is very fun.
Thank you for playing! So glad you enjoyed :)
I really like the sound effects, it makes the game feel tactile and satisfying! And it feels really rewarding when you find the right combinations and they snap into place, it makes me want to play more and keep progressing :)
Thanks for playing, and for the feedback :)
This is super fun and reminds me of playing Doodle God as a kid ^o^ I love combining all the things and trying to figure out how to progress! Wish there were more pop up hints or something because when I got stuckthe only way forward was to try every single combination lol
Thanks for playing and the great feedback! I want to think about more ways to reduce the need to brute force when you get stuck
A wonderful book of logic recipes!
The gameplay carries this so much. Love it and finished it even after the first couple levels!
Thanks for the kind words! And appreciate the playtest feedback you gave, it really helped!
The game is fun, has good ambience and feels good to play. Combining the elements was very satisfying, and somehow the minimalist art style really works for this game. I also appreciate that you added a lot of levels.
My main gripe with the gameplay is that some of the combinations didn't make total sense, and they were single-threaded (only one way to get there). At times, this made the game feel like brute force was the only strategy. Orrr maybe I'm just bad at it 😅.
Overall highly enjoyable, though. Well done!
Really appreciate the feedback! Adding more routes sounds like a great way to reduce the feeling of brute-force and increase creativity. The goal was to have you feel both creative but also stretching a little bit, but ideally brute force would never be necessary.
I really enjoyed playing this! The hints were well given for when the player is stuck and eliminating options that weren't needed for the solution. I think the visual design could be cleaned up a bit to look more polished, but overall the game was great!
Thanks for the kind words and great feedback!
Very addicting! Great job on this! Maybe you could even add some other functionality like using the search bar to create certain words. Also I would very much like a save to file function, to keep my progress in the game
Love the idea of using the search bar as a way to create words! The game is intended to autosave, so hopefully it kept your progress (and apologies if you hit a bug!)
