I love the story, it evokes deep feelings in my soul. I can tell you wanted to explore profound themes, and you did an amazing job! Though the game is small, the experience is vast and unique. Also the visuals are sooo beautiful - I especially like the integration of 2D elements into the 3D world. I wish there were more (maybe some interactions, choices), as the story was so immersive that you just don’t want to leave that world too soon.
I love how you used the camera movements to create a feeling of depth/space, and I felt the writing was really sweet, each scene was its own story but they linked together too :) I liked this a lot!
Wow, I’m in tears. While I had some trouble following the story, the emotional beats hit me hard. I’m in awe of the stargazing visuals … coincidentally, the vastness of a galaxy has been top-of-mind for me, too, while creating during this game jam… it struck me to see someone else make that connection to the artistic process. We must be drawing from the same truth ^^ I was close to overlooking this game and am grateful you called attention to it in the discord. It deeply resonated with me and has been a standout experience during this game jam. Thank you so much!
Oh my God I cannot begin to appreciate how much this means to me. I def made the story writing a bit cryptic but I'm glad you managed to extract the thematic relevance from it! Thank you for playing through and I genuinely love the feedback you've given- the fact that we've arrived on similar interpretations for the theme is so crazy. I loved your game as well and also how we both did a semi meta ending- felt that when I initially played through your game as well haha!
I like the story, and sounds, and music! And the art at the beginning was so nostalgic, reminded me of anime I watched long time ago! Good job :)
Thank youuu! The nostalgia aspect was something I was def trying to get across so that is great to hear
Hey! I was really impressed by your unique art style (I’ve never seen anything like that in a game before) and the way you tell your story through camera movements and shots. I saw you already kind of mentioned that at the end ^^ but yes, it would feel even more fun and more game-like with a bit more feedback and interaction (a good source of inspiration for me for dynamic dialogue would be Undertale)
Also, I just wanted to say that even though I’m not a native English speaker, the story still gave me chills. Great work!
Thank you!! I'm glad you took something from the story :) and hey I am not a native English speaker either so ESL gang rise up 🤝
About what you did, the art really stood out, it was almost too good!
I wanted more agency. I want to influence what is happening. More gameplay. More participation. I get that you made a story.
You created mystery and tension with your Morgana character. I wanted to explore that and solve that tension. I wanted to face Morgana head on and stand up to her and come out on top.
To me personally this felt like poetry about identity. Having problems with how what you do as an artist defines you. Every decision speaks about who you are. How can that be so devastatingly hope-crashing. To make something that enters this world as an inferior experience, in a world so saturated to the brim with grandeur and colorful, exciting success stories. Committing to complete something finite, flawed, and limited. Something boring. Accepting yourself as a person who is not a main character, a person that makes things that don’t really stand out, in a world that celebrates standing out. Avoiding that fate and doing nothing: having no voice, no self-expression, nothing. Finally embracing having to go through a difficult process and making something. Something within the boundaries of your decisions and budget. Saying to yourself that you will be your friend, even knowing that we are naturally our biggest and most difficult critics.
I am in love with the way you've worded this out I can't lie, I really appreaciate the thought you've put in verbalising what I remotely hoped to convey and this has me on cloud 9. Thank you so much!
I like it. You already know it's not so interactive as a game because like you said you had more plans for it, but it's more an experience as it stands right now. And that experience is one of those cases where I'm learning something about someone through their art. In that regard, I guess you could say that the interactivity doesn't necessarily have to be a conscious effort of input on the end of the player to achieve some virtual end, but rather considering how the player resonates with what you shared, and how you've interacted with the people that play your game, and clearly based on the message of the game, how they've interacted with you - maybe not directly, but how the concept of our perception of your experience has manifested itself in how you made the game. Pretty interactive for a game with just a few choices, I'd say. Also, I like the music that plays in the end. Good stuff!
Wow I love the way you've phrased it, even though I implemented this I dont think even I thought that deeply into the interaction with the player aspect, glad you managed to take something from the game's presentation in that manner though!!
PS: the music is by this wonderful artist irby:
Had a bit of trouble finding a track that I'd wanted to put in but yeah got kinda lucky digging around, unfortunately I forgot to put the credit in the game's description and dont know whether we're allowed to edit it after the submission date
Really liked the idea for this, loved the paper style and especially the look at the beginning with the monorail, great writing, keep at it
I love how you put the visuals for the scenes together! Great lighting as well!
very beautiful and touching story. It has so much potential...
just finished the game. very touching, my favourite one i've played in the jam so far. very creative art direction, really unique and memorable! the writing was really high quality, i'd love to see this game expanded upon more with more branching paths. i can see there was a lot of love put into this game, thank you for sharing!
Dude you have no idea how much this means for me to hear, thank you so much! You've got me teary eyed here lol
Love the blend of 2D and 3D!
Thank you for sharing your story. I can see what you might have been going for, and how you turned that into something smaller and manageable for the jam. I admit that I don't fully understand it, but I'm guessing that's because the idea you're wrestling with was intended for a much larger experience.
Thank you! Yes you hit the nail on the head, I had to trim it down so much to fit the jam, glad you could take out something meaningful from it
very nice, immersive story! the art on the train at the beginning is so creative. great job!
The panning shots are clean and the art is intriguing! I can tell you put a lot of effort my friend. It looks like a mix of 2D and 3D that is dope.
Hi, TYSM! If you dont mind I'd like to ask, to what extent did the story make sense to you (if at all), knowing the theme of the jam and everything.
Also yes it is a mix of 3d and 2d ^u^
Nice art!! I'm not much of a reader so I can't say much about the story but the aesthetic is really pretty ^o^ Wish there was more gameplay mechanic though!
TYSM :) !! I wanted this to be a first person sim like firewatch initially but I had to cut that out cuz I ran out of time lol... it was def meant to be story focused game from the start tho
Love your work as well!
