Nicely done. This was one of my favorite mechanics from Braid. I couldn't get past the spike level but the first part was great. Nice art, nice movement feel. I am torn between 3 and 4 start because it is not an original mechanic, but it was done well for a jam. I also would have liked to explore the theme more and the difficulty went up way too sharply with the spikes. But I did enjoy it!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I've actually never heard of Braid I'll have to look more into it, my main inspiration for the mechanic was based on Tracer's recall from Overwatch (in terms of returning to your starting position), but I thought it'd be cool to be able to manipulate the world while in the "recall" part. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really cool game, love the concept, visuals, and puzzles. Feels really fun even if the difficulty ramps up quick and I got stuck not able to reset

Developer

Thank you so much! Sorry about getting stuck, I have an updated version that fixes some bugs, just have to wait until the after the ratings to publish the changes. Glad you enjoyed it otherwise!

What a cool idea! I think the controls are solid and the mechanic is great too! Great SFX and visuals as well. Well done!

I like this game, didn't get too far through but it feels very well put together. I like the colour palette and lighting effects especially, they're very atmospheric :)

This could be a full game! Great art/environment/effects, great concept, lots of great puzzles. I like the nod towards the theme, and appreciated how the early puzzles helped me understand the controls.

For me, the difficulty ramped up a bit too fast. Going straight from earning the dash into the spike room was a bit too much. I'm confident I could get it with practice, but needing to restart from the statue got a bit stressful after several attempts. Gave me Hollow Knight "White Palace" vibes, which really speaks volumes about how much potential is here! I hope you post a playthrough on so I can experience the entire game.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely agree the ice spikes are a big ramp up in difficulty especially without a lot of time for the player to get comfortable using the dash. I think a puzzle requiring the dash without so many hazards would help ease that transition and allow the player to get more comfortable.

I got stuck and there was no reset option. :D I love the style and feel. I'm still in the process of playing the game.

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that! Do you remember where you ended up getting stuck? Will definitely look to implement a reset option/make sure there aren't any soft locks.

It was a door I opened at the very start of the game with my shadow-self and stepped into. Your intention implicitly was that I open the door with the real self and step in with the shadow self but I did the opposite and then the real self got stuck inside. Since it happened early in the game I simply restarted. You did good work on the platforming gameplay. I was impressed and enjoyed. It was hard and fun.

Ah got it, thanks so much for the detail! Glad you enjoyed it!

I love love the concept of this game! So i figured out that interesting mechanic in the first level because I was trying to dash to solve it (but alas no dash) so i realized what if... And yeah. I love it definitely!

Thanks so much for playing! I'll make sure to check out your submission too!
