dude this game is SICK!

The mechanics are fun to use, the art is cool, the writing is hilarious, the ambient sounds and sfx are all just right and build the environment really well, the style for all the elements is consistent and looks GREAT, and the premise is fun! Gabbo sneaks into homes of the dead!

death is an opportunity, to procure a home!

I wasn't really a fan of the game, but over all I like the map mechanics and the ending was sooo gooood!! I loved it

While I didnt like it, I see some potential in this game.

Thanks for checking out the game, even if it wasn’t your favourite!

I’m so thrilled you liked the ending at least! We were going back and forth on how much time it was worth spending on it, since we didn’t know how many people would see the whole game through, but we ultimately decided the game needed a good ending to tie it all together.

I loved the game! I appreciate that you both get automatic notes for what you overhear, but can also make your own ones. It's only missing a little more in terms of sfx and music.

By the way, I think this is the best theme match I have seen in the jam.

We’re glad to hear you liked it! The sounds is definitely something we were aware of, though it fell into the “We’ll fix it later– oops time ran out”-bucket (surely a unique issue that no one else in this jam had). We hope at least that we caught the right atmosphere with the sounds we have.

I really like this game.  It was a great short little experience.

I found a house that said "We should get lights out, there could be goblins outside for all we know" and I immediately entered that house. Lights will not deter this goblin. . .

Great teak on the theme! I loved the artwork and sprites, especially the goblin and their little noises. The ambient sound was also super nice to listen to. Plus you have the map and clues, good work on both the coding and art side of things! You guys did great. Amazing work especially in five days.

Some goblins flee the light. Others see it as a challenge. Thanks for checking out the game, we’re glad you liked it!

A really nice puzzle game. I especially liked the editable map and clues page.

This is a very good game. Congrats. I really like what you made with the theme. Simple, but smart and fun. Great combo for a jam

I am not sure how the theme "Death is an Opportunity" applies here, but really fun

Thanks for checking out the game!

The obituary reports a death which presents an opportunity for our goblin hero to find a home for the night. That’s at least how we were thinking about it. In concepting, we had plans for there to be more of a detective-murder-mystery vibe going on. Time forced us to scrap a lot of ideas, and we decided to prioritize the stuff we thought was fun, even if that made the connection to the theme less clear.

Glad you liked it either way!

You know, I blanked that, literally felt natural for the game, it was just on point for the game I was like - Wait no death mechanic?? So well done

Great Job,  fun and good art.

This is peak, the detective work was fun, this could develop into a fully fledged game!

I LOVED IT! Had to make me really think about where people would actually be living based on their habits, and that lent itself really naturally to worldbuilding! An awesome game and I can't believe you made it in 4 days!

Thanks for checking the game out, we’re really glad you enjoyed it! It’s awesome to see the map scribbling being used the way we hoped for.

This was a super cool game! I would keep playing something like this. The puzzles are super simple but really satisfying to piece together. This is really well done, great job!

Very fun, being kicked out is funny. Nice art as well.

This was a really good game! Creative, and the pen and paper mechanic was REALLY nice! (Couldn't get the typing mechanic to work, but I didn't need it!)

A bit slow-paced,  so I think some background music would have been cool :) Still, will come back and finish this one tomorrow!

Developer

Thanks for checking our game out! The writing mechanic turned out a bit unintuitive, we wanted to communicate it better but time ran out. I’ve updated the control guide on the itch page to clarify when you decide to continue :)
