I would've loved a lot more visuals for the feedback and attacking but I understand time is a big issue. Great work for this demo and I can see some good potential for it if developed further.

Very fast-paced and fun combat. If it had more features I would definitely play for longer.

I like the art. It looked quite nice. I agree that seeing the attacks would have been nice but it was fun

This game works right out of the box, so that's a good start.
I like the way the theme was used! Getting to take over the guy that kills you is an interesting twist. The enemy behavior is also pretty interesting, it feels like they've got a somewhat complex state machine governing their behavior. The movement is quick and fluid too. My only real complaint is that I want to be able to see my weapon attacks (and maybe have some sort of boss fight or big finally?)
It kind of reminds me of some of the games by Walter Machado...
I digress, this was a solid gameplay demo! Thanks for sharing :)

thank you so much for playing!

when making the enemy ai we would up making custom pathfinding and all sorts of silly things so we kinda just kept throwing stuff in from there and I'm glad it turned out well :)

we did have some sprite work done for attack animations but unfortunately we ran out of time to include them so we'll be adding them in after judging

our goal for level design was to have the player try to stop 'rituals' within a certain time limit by either destroying altars or killing everything and having the occasional boss fight and I'm really looking forward to making that as well as including the story we put together
