soo cool

I really enjoyed the visuals, loved the light and shadow play! The music could definitely use a bit of a switch up but on the otherhand it did put me on edge, so that might be the intended purpose!

Great job!

I really loved the circus setting, but as someone else has mentioned it is rather easy to get stuck in the first section where you just throw balls. And I am not sure if it is intended like that but at some points my camera moved on its own with no logical pattern. The camera shake itself is unfortunately also very violent and I somehow got motion sick. Will attempt to play this again later.
Great job on making this game though ♥

Nice setting. It was fun exploring the carnival. Good luck to you.

Pretty cool initial concept and atmosphere, but the mechanics need quite a bit of polish still. Would like to give it another shot in the future. Good job!

Thank you for your feedback!! would love to implement this project into something better with more experience in the future !!! <3

Had a playthrough of this game. I like the eerie atmosphere but it tapers off heavily. It was more of a scenic walk than a playable game. The clarity of what to do was low and the overall mechanics were very buggy. However my main critics come from how you are handling this project. I have a hard time believing that the 'POLYGON Horror Carnival' Asset Pack was obtained with a legitimate license.

Mainly because you are students in a game development course, I doubt you would obtain a license to this specific asset pack for £90.83 from the creator's official store page. (Or even £26.37 for this and many others through Humble Bundle.) The lack of crediting for the Assets, Along with the fact that you are deleting public criticism of your project to hide the fact that others are calling out the same stealing issue.

I have sent a report through to the hosts of the event, They can check to see if the rules are upkept and also to check what has been deleted under the comments.. I believe in the integrity of the rules and will retract this comment if my accusations are proven wrong.

thanks for your feedback and for bringing this up.

To clarify, we actually found the ‘POLYGON Horror Carnival’ Asset Pack available for free on this website: https://gfx-station.com/polygon-horror-carnival-low-poly-3d-art-by-synty We genuinely thought it was legitimately obtainable from there and didn’t realize it might not be an authorized source. That was an honest mistake on our part, we weren’t trying to misuse any assets or hide anything. As in the gameplay we had a small team and limited time and this was a small project that wasn't meant to be that much as this is our first game jam and we're beginners

 we apologize for this

Hey There,

For a first Game Jam. Its a good start! Its alot better than those who never get a start into Jams in the first place. Definitely be mindful of where assets are taken from. GFX-Station just steals from artists and developers and charges without any profit. FAB, Humble Bundle, Sketchfab and Artstation are typically best places to get legit assets from! Hoping to more Game Jams too ^^

Thank you for the feedback and we will be very careful moving forward!!

I loved the carnival setting, very atmospheric! ❤︎

thank you for trying it out!! <3

I liked the environments! This is pretty good for starting out, I like seeing the blockout style in the post death level. I've been there, having to stick with dev art due to time constraints. Just take a look at "The Little Things" on my page. As long as you're learning something you're succeeding in a game jam.

Keep creating! I hope to see more games from you in the future!

Developer

thank you so much!! we will be delivering more and better projects in the future

Enjoyed the atmosphere and music. I killed myself at the start and it took me to your secret test level. I actually think that showed off your mechanics really nicely! should have included it in the demo in an easier to find way. Really cool idea. Keep it up!

In future, please credit the original source for anything you use that is not your own. Bear in mind not many of us have that knowledge prior - it's okay to leave it in a description just do not touch your game files to ensure you are not cheating. I played your game, whilst I liked the atmosphere and the art, I did not like the mechanics, several character models were just thrown in there without polish, I'm guessing you're new to unreal because some of this looks like you just took the character models and did not program health. I tried throwing balls only to have them bounce off harmlessly. Still, it's a fun enough game but it lacks polish I will rate the game after thinking carefully on what I liked vs disliked.

Developer

thank you for your comment we will be more careful in the future, it was a small project and we had very limited time to work on it despite unreal being very complicated for us, we will work on this to get better and prevent this from happening again

really awesome keep it up!

you can't delete comments just cause it wasn't positive not everyone has to like your game, if you can't take criticism your never going to improve and be stuck at the bottom

don't know why it was deleted but thank you for your feedback - Animator

can the assets that where source also be credited otherwise the game can be taking down
