Love a good tower defense game, one thing... the visuals kind of confused me a little while playing,  but overall really enjoyed my time playing it, and Idk if I'm suppose to have this little money or I have to get good lmao.

Overall this is the only tower defense I played in this jam, and I think it may be one of the best, good job <3

Developer

Thanks and glad you liked it. It’s hard to get balance in game jam time but got a ton of feedback so there’s lots of fixes and changes coming. Stay tuned!

Solid tower defence game. I did not read the instructions so I wound up being unable to get any money for the rest of my run. Just me and my frogs against Hell. Fun though!

Developer(+1)

Yeah need to fix the softlock problem but otherwise glad you had fun!

Really impressed by the game design on this one, I love tower defense games and this scratched the itch.

Only thing to say for me is that too many things that use the same currency gives me a really hard time to choose.

I absolutely enjoyed the money making though, money go up = dopamine.

Really enjoyed this all around though and thank you for making this.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted it to be simple so it wasn’t complicated with multiple currencies but will revisit that. Not sure I’ve seen games that use different currency (other than live services).

The gameplay loop feels super satisfying, and the pacing of upgrades keeps that addictive “I want to see whats next”

Pixel monsters might not be the most detailed, but they fit the tower defense style perfectly and I love how many upgrades you’ve added for the player. That really extends the replayability and keeps the runs interesting.

The souls and gateways tie beautifully into the theme(kinda), and the pixelsprite and sound design make the chaos feel alive without being overwhelming.

Solid work all around, man, worth the time to play it before the rating period is over :D

Developer

Thanks really appreciate it and glad you had fun!

Awesome tower defense game! The progression curve is spot on, and the snowball is so satisfying. And so many upgrades available. Spritework and music are also very good.

I'd love to see this one as a mobile game. Tap tap tap, boom boom boom. Very satisfying!

Developer

Thanks, looking to do oh so many post-jam fixes based on feedback from people here and testing. Keep your eye on the prize!

Sweet game, all the demon sprites look sick. Good gameplay loop and upgrade system.

Btw, you may have noticed, but I think the orange and blue frogs have their sprites switched in the selection menu.

Developer

Yeah a few people noticed the “bug” with the frogs. It happens when hiring amphibians. We’ll fix that up right away. Thanks for playing!

This is incredible! There are so many things to buy and upgrade. Impressive work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Was hoping there was enough to do. Looking to do more post-jam. Stay tuned!

This is really good! If only the portal could regenerate.. Love the gameplay. I'm a big fan of tower defense games. Great entry and music!

Developer

There are upgrades that do give you portal regeneration, just need to save up for them.

Sooo addictive, the gameplay loop is very well made and satisfying to go through! The presentation also enhances it through great visuals and sound design. I wish later stages had a more/slightly cheaper upgrades, since I found the idling time while waiting for souls to generate money a bit too long, but it's a minor issue. Loved it a lot :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Will look at trying to balance it a bit better in late game.

This one was good! I could definitely spend hours playing.

I really love the unique touch you added to the genre by using souls and gateways.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks appreciate it! Stay tuned for more updates post-jam!

This one got me addicted haha XD Great tower defense with a well balanced system. Would love to see this developed further :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you had fun. Looks like I’ll be making enhancements to this so stay tuned!

An incredibly fun tower defense game! I liked how a lot of the themes were based off of classic hell literature such as Dante's Inferno, including the 9 circles of hell and the 7 deadly sins. I'm not sure why we're all frogs, but I think they're pretty cute, haha. And the upgrades are great and balanced, I didn't feel like I was winning too easily. This game was so fun that even after I died I just wanted to keep playing, but alas, I had to rate other games! Overall, a very fun experience, I definitely would recommend!

Developer(+1)

Yeah no idea why frogs. I think something went wrong in the hiring process and the middle management misheard me. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The background hurt my eyes but overall I like everything! may you check out my game too?

Submitted(+1)

I really like tower defense games and this one has a really cool oldschool vibe.

Developer

Thanks, glad you had fun playing it!

I really liked it! At first I couldn't place any chambers at all because I spent all my money on defenses so I soft locked myself into having no possible way to gain money for that run so I had to restart. I do think some of the art assets are a bit miss-matched but I think if we had more time this could have really stood out. Overall it was still a very fun game and you did a great job with the game play loop, it kept me playing for a while! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah sorry about that. Something I discovered that some people found buying towers first. I will fix it for an update either to look them out or don’t allow tower purchases until at least one chamber is placed. Thanks for the gameplay and feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the game, I only wish there was a way to place the same frog turret multiple times in a row.
Overall, kind of silly concept and fits the theme pretty well. The opening text gets you into the gameplay fast while building a little bit of the atmosphere. Fun game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. Will look at multiple placement options for a possible future update.

Submitted(+1)

This was cool! Love the humor. The music got you pumped as you racked up more and more money, and it was cool seeing the different designs of the demons coming to destroy your death's work.

Now I want to read the onboarding letters the frogs got. Must have been quite a shock for them.

Developer(+1)

Yeah post-jam will publish the Frog Letters as they’ve come to be known. They’re infamous in the lower levels and quite popular with the new hires.

Retiring from being a frog General in Hell was not how I anticipated today going, but defenitely enjoyed doing it!

Developer

Good times General Frog. More to come!

What a crazy concept haha, I loved it!

It would mean a lot if you could rate my game too! https://fernando-ferreira.itch.io/death
