This game made me wanting more! I want to know more about the ghosts' stories!

The visuals (pixel art, light etc.) are really charming.

Regardless of the length, this was a super sweet game. Really enjoyed the atmospherics, sound and visuals. Great job!

Simple, and nice. Very short. I found no issues.

Oh my goodness, I really loved this game! The music, the visuals, the dialogue - all of it was very thought provoking, and I loved that each ghost/character had a different view on what death was an opportunity for. Awesome job!!

This game is very cute! I love the artwork and little story y'all put together. I love this atmosphere and would definitely want to come back to play a longer version!

Does this need a special software to be downloaded? I tried to open the game and it asked me if I wanted to open it in WordDocs or Notepad, or other odd things that definitely wouldn't run games.

Developer

Hi, not anymore! It should be playable directly in the browser. If the Itch.io embed isn't working, you can play it on gdgames:
https://gd.games/aevox23/engraved---jam-version

The downloadable .zip file is for the source code, which can only be opened with the right software.

One of the best visuals! Simple, yet I can see how carefully you selected the assets:)

I was extremely impressed with the polish in this game. From the lighting & shadows to the dialogue boxes, which was something I struggled with this jam. I'm gonna be taking away some hints to make better UI in my own games by having played this- so thanks! xD

Right from the start, the music and graphics are amazing! The lighting was wonderful, and exploring around talking to all the ghosts allowed you to get to know the different ways death can be an opportunity.... Beautifully done!

Short and sweet. Fits the theme very well, I enjoyed that there is more than one interpretation of Death is an Opportunity in this. I feel as though most people(including me) stuck with one interpretation and ran with it. Great job with the shadows, it's simple but really adds to the vibe and already good art. Khold Hardkash is a great name.

Lol! That one was a little on the nose. Mr. Barry as the Caretaker was a bit more subtle. :)

Wow, I really enjoyed this. Everything stands out aesthetically--music, visuals, UI, and even the lighting. The story is also simple and sweet. Great work :))
