I really enjoyed playing this one, and the visuals are great :) I hope you will continue making games in the future. (Especially love the aesthetics in the background that set a haunting ambience).
Thank you for the kind words! It means a lot to get this kind of feedback on my very first jam game.
I'm really glad the atmosphere worked for you. Your encouragement is a huge boost, and I'll definitely keep learning and making more. Thanks for playing!
That’s great! Then you might be encouraged to know - I played it on twitch, so I am writing this also on behalf of the chat who enjoyed the experience with me :)
I just wanted to write a final, huge thank you to every single person who took the time to play my little game.
I went into this expecting very little, so seeing this overwhelmingly positive reception has been an incredible source of joy and motivation. It will help me so much going forward.
To be completely honest, I was on the verge of giving up on game development. It's my lifelong dream, but I felt discouraged and was ready to let it go because I wasn't seeing any results.
This game jam, and especially the wonderful, insightful, and kind comments from all of you, have completely renewed my spirit. You've given me back the motivation and the strength to keep pursuing my dream.
I'll be forever grateful for this experience. Thank you all again for the amazing feedback.
Short but good! Only real advice I could give would be to touch up your collisions (which is not a valid critique for a 5-day span, I'm merely talking next steps) and add in a tutorial for sacrificing in-game, as many will not actually read the game page.
I really loved the artstyle and music choice. It makes me wonder just what is going on this world that this young adult is able to do such a thing. Is it their power? The power of the woods? Something else? Lots you can take this in direction wise!
This comment genuinely made my day. Thank you so much!
I'm thrilled you enjoyed the atmosphere! And I love that it made you think about the lore ("Is it their power? The power of the woods?"). That's exactly the kind of mystery I was hoping to hint at.
You've also hit on two super important points for improvement. The collisions definitely need more polish, and you are 1000% right about needing an in-game tutorial. That's a classic rookie mistake on my part, and your feedback is a great reminder!
This is super motivating and gives me a clear direction for the future. Thank you!
Aw that was fun!! Short and sweet :) Would love to get immersed in a longer version down the line!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you had fun with it.
And that's great to hear, because I'm definitely thinking about developing a longer, "final" version down the line with more levels and puzzles.
Thanks for playing and for the encouragement!
Great little game, and very impressive for a first solo project.
I wasn't expecting the game to end so soon and I think I went a little too fast to get fully immersed in the game, my bad.
With that said I really enjoyed the combination of the music with the background art. And I appreciate the details with all the animations. Everything comes together to create a coherent world with a great vibe!
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! It's so encouraging to hear that, especially since this was my first solo project.
And please don't apologize for finishing it quickly! The game is definitely short, that's one of the challenges of a game jam. The fact that you wanted it to be longer is a huge compliment!
I'm really glad you enjoyed how the music, art, and animations came together to create that vibe. Thank you for playing!
I definitely like this! The music, visuals, and overall atmosphere are great. Seems like there's some kind of mystery to this forest that would make for an excellent fleshed-out narrative. I feel like some sword combat in this would be killer, and then being able to like... also hit your corpses to use as long ranged weapons would be insane.
Some small bits of feedback: on controller, Jump is set to the Top Face button (ie the Y-button on an Xbox controller or the Triangle button on a PS controller) and I don't think there's a resurrect button at all. Would work much better with jump on the Bottom button (as is tradition). I know you didn't code for controller and that's fine but if you want to take this further, prioritize that because this would be great on Steam Deck.
Fantastic job overall!
Wow, thank you so much for this incredibly detailed feedback!
I'm thrilled you enjoyed the atmosphere and saw the narrative potential in the world. Your gameplay ideas are amazing too, hitting the corpses to use as ranged weapons is a brilliant concept I hadn't even thought of!And thank you especially for the detailed report on the controller mapping. I didn't get to properly implement it during the jam, so that's super helpful information for any future updates. The Steam Deck suggestion is a great idea!
Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to write all this out.
Of course! I think this has a lot of potential. Am looking forward to seeing where it goes!
Really lovely visuals and a fun mechanic. Theres definitely a lot more you could do with level design for this if you wanted to take it further!
Thank you so much for the kind feedback! I'm really happy you enjoyed the visuals and the core mechanic.
That's a great point about the level design. I'm still learning, so your feedback is really valuable. To be honest, the tight time limit of the jam was a bit nerve-wracking, so I was hesitant to get too ambitious with the puzzles.
Thanks again for playing!
Everything about this game was right.
Thank you so much! That's an incredibly kind thing to say. I'm so glad you enjoyed it that much. It really means a lot after a long jam week.
Thanks for playing!
Great atmosphere. The art and music assets came together for a nice little vibe. Just wish I got to stick around in it a bit longer.
Wow, thank you, this comment really made my day! I'm so happy to hear you liked the vibe. Getting the art and music to create the right atmosphere was my main goal.
I wish it was longer too! Unfortunately, the jam's deadline was tight, but I already have a few ideas on how to expand it. Comments like yours are a huge motivation to turn this into a more complete game.
Thanks again for taking the time to play.
Neat little game with cool ideas. Plays well, looks nice and sounds pleasant. Well done!
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm especially happy to hear you thought it "plays well".
As this is one of my first projects, I was a bit insecure about the gameplay feel, and I ran into some issues during development. So, your comment is really encouraging.
Thanks again for playing!

I just played and rated yours as well, it's a really cool project! And thank you for the kind words on your page - I'm really glad you liked the visuals.
Good job on the jam!
