I like the atmosphere you created here, though I felt like the, what appears to be, linear narration clashed with the maze-like structure of the game world. I feel like there could be something to give some sense of direction, as I found myself walking in circles for most of the time, which is not obvious due to the barren look of the environment (that sets the right tone though). Though it could also be that this is clearly wanted as the player is the last seed, where in this case you did an awesome job relising you vision. I enjoyed it!
hey not bad!
love a good emotion journey. pacing a little slow but not terrible.
interesting for sure,
GG
Brilliant! This game may not get the attention/rating it deserves since not everyone has the patience to play a walking simulator, but know that you did an incredible job for a 5 day game jam. At first I thought it was just this lovely heavy atmosphere. Then a long, sorrowful road. Silence. Stillness in the trees and in my heart, but a restless, searching soul. Searching for meaning, our human condition. And then- what is barren, tired, and melancholy is at once permeated with hope, dreams, and new life. All it takes is a spark, a seed. Much of my wandering through this game felt like wandering through vast stretches within fragments of a mind not too dissimilar from my own.
The narration is well-written. It takes time to unfold, but this only lends more meaning and impact to the story. Through the pacing, atmosphere, and choice of music, I felt that you didn't just develop or design this game, you truly created and participated in it and in the emotion.
Some feedback- I thought the voice over could have more life and emotion. Though the tone makes sense for the beginning, I would have liked it to build along with the story. I also think you may have used megascans, so it could have been easier to use high-fidelity than low-fidelity assets. However, I think lower fidelity would actually lead to higher quality visuals and game in this case. From the screenshots, it looked like the style of Inside in first-person. In fact, I think an engine like Unity or Godot would be better suited for this type of game. That way you could focus more on the areas that make this game stand out without the bulk of an engine essentially built for photorealism. And you could target web and allow more people to play! But that one is entirely a personal choice :)
The environment is good ! I felt like the narration was dragged too long, and i felt like i needed some kind of feedback from the game other than narration, but it was decent ! wish you the best ! < 3
Great job!
Great job!
Truly lovely narrative and environment!! I adore the game concept so much. Would also be highly appreciative if you could give feedback for our game, as I would love to learn from your narrative skills!
"The last seed" was almost the name of my game as well haha. It was a good game
Good job!
The narrator has a great voice and the visuals are awesome, even though the world is canonicly dead, it's really pretty. The gameplay was pretty simple, you really just walk in random directions, until the game resets (unless I missed something), but the visuals and the idea behind the game was amazing!
I love the atmosphere and enjoy listening to the MC talking and gaining snippets of what happened before. Found myself a little unsure where to go sometimes, but it was still nice to walk around it.
Awesome seeing a fellow 3d game!
